Yeah, I didn't think that needed to be said. They executed another "fake" because there never was a real one. Gaz never had a actual daughter, he just had a bunch of brainwashed orphans.

It's not like heroes have magical daughter-sensing powers. If there's someone who claims to be Gaz's daughter they're going to believe her.

Yeah, I mean, two of them reacted in shock and horror to White Chaika because they couldn't distinguish her from the one they killed, and it's not like any of them had the slightest clue that there were multiple Chaikas out there at the time.

Also, the guy who is reported to have dealt the actual killing blow has two Chaikas working for him, so odds on him being in on it are high.

What's precedent ever done for us?

Bioweapon production I can get but Chaikas seems like a roundabout solution to about any problem.

That got me thinking. There must be a point to letting the Chaikas roam the world (to the extent of giving them a guide like Guy), and considering memories are strongly tied to magic power in this setting...

New episode and new girl, a robot girl, that's a nice addition to the team.

So Niva is a walking wave-motion gun, definately raising the stakes here, I wonder what will happen but I pretty doubt we'll have a conclusion this season to the show, probably take care of chaika-harem guy and trigger the apocalypse or something.

I get a bad feeling the next time we'll see red she won't be alive, her team gets progressively worfed so they might be offed to show how strong the big bad, either that or a one on one match with chaika.

Episode 5: The great Chaika escape.

Chaika's escaping together was nice... and rather funny. "Let's split up." "There's only one exist."

I liked Toru face when the guard was opening the door. "Seriously? This is just too easy."

Chaika is by far the nicest person on the show, and it works well for her. See kids, helping people works!

You don't need a key if you have a dragoooooon.

Akari has strong tendency to try to leave people behind only to help them anyway.

That's a shitload of feynla. An army practically.

Everyone fighting together was fun to watch.

So Niva Lada is a living Super-Gundo. Well that's some inheritance pops left Chaika. Also I wonder if this means the other Chaika's are decoys.

"Hey how about we don't randomly fight each other over remains someone is making us gather for unknown purposes for a change?" That was nice bit of common sense there.

Toru dosen't put foot in his mouth for once and supports Chaika when she needs it? Nice character development.

Uh oh, Niva insist on picking up the remains...

Guess that speculation about superweapons is kinda true with Niva. That kind of magic is game-breaking, sasuga Emperor Gaz.

I look forward to our multiple factions cooperating to not be manipulated and pin down the truth.

[up]Most adorable.grin

Episode 5:

  • Break-outs are such an easy thing to do.tongue
  • Sending out all those Feyla was akin to saying Code Red. Didn't do jack against an united front, though.wink
  • Chaika gets a sweet reward for being such a nice girl. With Niva by her side, the world is hers.note
  • ...Although, what is Gaz's reason for wanting a super-weapon?
  • Enemy Mine complete. Kinda feel sad for all those Feyla. Lying in place, staring into space, waiting for directives that will never come...
  • Really, Niva's cute. And the hunt for the remains will continue...? wild mass guessMaybe the remains will turn Niva into an even more powerful super-weapon. But why?wild mass guess

Next time, it's Vivi's turn in the spotlight. Looking forward to it.

Episode 5. In which people are good at stumbling into the right rooms and accidentally overhearing the right things.

He's planning on getting them to help them.

Well, there is a precedence for her having a good aim.

I wonder why those two still communicate in the common language.

Okay, that's kinda funny how they don't trust the other to make noises.

She has a master key.

She ever thought that was a simple island?

Yeah, of course she'd reach the stupid conclusion first.

Nice upgrade.

I must say, that's an apt name for that spell. It does what it claims.

Of course he was hit by a random rebar rather than the actual blast, just so he can say a few final words of exposition.

Yeah, just mention that it could've been someone's plan, and that's a reason not to do it.

That tournament seems rather suspicious indeed.

Episode didn't have enough Fredrica going wild.

Next episode should be interesting.

YES. Heck, just the two Chaikas talking with that broken Japanese is a hearty dose of fuzzies.

Pretty kickass action scenes too.

Episode 6 is nice, pretty much a guy episode, seems like his plan is coming to fruition so he starts getting his hands on, maybe the apocalypse starts next episode.

It's nice that the saboteurs say fuck the competition and just go to steal what they need. Not that they really need to since apperantly they let 5 people as a single group when they include: 2 trained assassins, an adept mage, a dragon and a walking excalibur.

Niva and Chaika talking was just delight to watch.

I have no idea what the whole intrigue is about, but damn the build-up is incredible.

I really like how the characterization is done in this anime. We can clearly see their personalities, experiences and biases reflected in their decisions. It's pretty rare to see it done so skilfully.

As they say, the plot thickens what with Niva going along with Guy. I doubt Chaika is going to take it in stride. Time for counterattack!

Episode 6. In which they enter the tournament.

I don't quite understand the design of Akari's swimsuit. Well, it makes more sense than herself.

At least that doesn't blow away the food. One step on the way to becoming a master chef, Chaika.

How economical. She's not wasting any food. Or non-food.

Good qualifier.

Well, that's one way of solving the problem, I suppose.

He scaled a fortress floating in the air. How is this more difficult? And that's not even counting their pet dragon. Don't tell her I said that.

Fredrica is so cute being excited.

Chaika and Niva talking is also cute. They're having a rather strange way of thinking, both of them, but it somehow matches up. Also, I like how Chaika just doesn't make a difference between what she is and a normal person. A personality is all that matters.

Hey, Shredder. He's just lacking the Badass Cape. Otherwise he'd have won.

Fredrica doesn't want to be saved until she's really needed. She wants to kill and maim and wreak havoc. Not in that order.

Nothing about the groups being two or three when they arrived.

Show someone eating meat in a Wicked Cultured way, and you have someone evil.

So it was him. Did we have a confirmation, or was it just the natural assumption?

How is a pile of bodies supposed to protect from something that digs a huge trench in the ground? Ground is traditionally harder than people.

Still, it explains the fortune cookie.

I still wonder what the purpose of making Vivi a Chaika is. If it was just to demonstrate how normal people are turned into Chaikas it's a bit odd to show it with one of the more significant characters.

Sixth Avenging:

  • ...Okay, Guy's starting to tick me off. I don't know, it's just how smug he seems while being cryptic. Whatever, everything's coming together for him.
  • Chaika and Niva are wonderful together. ...Or should I say were?sad
  • Gillette did die back then. He would never kill without a second thought, after all. The reunion's gonna be painful.
  • It's always amusing seeing Fredrica getting hyped for battle. Now, if she can just get a massacre in this tournament...tongue

Guy got progressively sinister.

It only struck me at the end how I never saw Niva change expression. The only focus the episode did was close up near the end and then I could tell how emotionally dead she looked, not a causally neutral expression.

It's sad to see what happened to Gillete.

I'd be more worried about Gilette if we didn't have a fortune cookie telling us that's Vivi's gonna save him.

For a fun party game, down a shot everytime someone says chaika grin

-Well, now there's a new pure-dark chaika, I think we need only yellow or green for the full set.

-It always amazes me when politicians in shows act like rational abeit divided human beings and not like idiots.

-And only now I realize that Fredrika took the form of her master in her childhood.

You probably shouldn't connect your moat with your dungeons. And a simple door would work so much better than this overdesigned trap.

For all this talk about saboteurs not hesitating to fight each other, none of them was trying too hard.

Akari convictions are strong. And scary.

I have to say, I love the way Chaika talks, especially when she's agitated "Shocking truth!"

Can someone finally make a contract with Fredrika? For people who are otherwise quite pragmatic their refusal make little sense.

I like that Fredrika went back to her master form.

So he just wants war? People will do amazing things out of boredom.

Black Chaika is of course evil. Typical.

Things are heating up but I still have idea what this all could be about. Guy probably has the answers but he won't tell.
