That was the girl that died, right? We've seen that losing can have physiological changes, so I'd expect the same of winning

I think it would indeed be a thing like Madoka - it's not random people that are picked as Selectors, it's those who have a particularly strong wish...or people like Iona and Ruko who get a high off battle. The entire point is to have all these Selectors actually battling and putting in their all, even if they're in danger of losing and ruining everything, because they want it that much. What exactly this accomplishes is uncertain, but I am pretty sure the whole wish thing is just a means to an end. In any case, someone with a wish that's external and out of their control wouldn't be picked, pretty much.

That mysterious girl isn't Ener. It is "Miya" who is trapped in a room. Could she be the first LRIG?

Ouch, Yuzuki, seeing her boyfriend gets stolen.

Now Ruko got another LRIG on her deck. Wonder how she can support it without any card.

Episode 10:

• The mysterious girl Mayu... And no, she's not Kyuubs in human form!
• So Hitoe continues to wish for friends... So what would happen if she loses three more times...? Also, her mother's displaying the same signs that made Ruko's mother afraid of her, it looks like. Gh...
• Yuzuki had to confirm for herself. And she saw it. Her wish fulfilled... Happy, but still can't escape the tinge of sadness...
• Poor Tama...
• Iona's throwing a party. For Ruko, but other moths can be drawn to the flame. Hmmm... Chiyori might be there...
• Also: Hey, Hitoe said Yuzuki's name. Without any deadly feedback following a second later. Maybe that's something?

No wonder Ruuko is so difficult to understand, she doesn't have her own computer! That poor girl!

Ruuko's wish...this really is Madoka-based, huh?

The phone convo...kind of less-than-optimal writing that nobody's mentioned that Ruko's mother had two children (still don't know the brother's backstory).

That's right...we still don't know the full conditions for becoming an eternal girl...I'm guessing Yuzuki's wish came "true" after only three wins because it was easy to accomplish? The more difficult the wish, the more wins necessary? Maybe?

Hitoe! Remember!

It seemed like the LRIG has to understand the wish before it can become true, so maybe there is a relation of how much the wish is understood with the number of wins required. Did Yuzuki only won three times? I think she had some games of screen before becoming an eternal girl.

So Ruko wins and switches places with Tama and all the LRI Gs are returned to their bodies? Wouldn't that end the series? I thought this was getting another season, then it would have to be only normal battles or set before/during this season and either option doesn't seem appealing to me.

I hope that Ruko wins. Tama comes out and starts destroying shit. Doubtful but still.

Episode 11:

• Ruko's wishing for the impossible. Can it be done? Will they all go out for ice-cream someday? It might not happen, since Tama's not really on board with this. Wow, role reversal. Well, I'm hoping Ruko's optimism goes through. But...the despair-inducing nature of this show tells me that this is her last dance...
• Hoh? Looks like Iona knows about the white room and Mayu.
• This is a painful friend battle! This is the music that comes to my mind the most when fighting a friend in a serious way...

Interesting stuff. Ruuko really is trying to pull a Madoka. Unfortunately for her, it really feels like she's going to screw something up badly, even ignoring the fact that there's another season. So Iona does have another goal in mind. I wonder if Akira is going to do anything.

I suspect Iona is an escaped LRIG. Dunno why she would want to go back. Maybe she wants to take out Mayu?

The announced a second season for this? I suppose it is good for a merchandising anime, but I would call it average overall.

Hitoe got her memory back by just trying really hard. That felt cheap.

So she is really fighting to free Yuzuki, I wasn't expecting that. Pretty touching moment.

Tama gains resolve! And is gonna get a white scrunchie.

Iona's battle space was appropriately creepy.

Tama was distracted by that mysterious white room girl, what is her game? This scene is WAY too bright. The girl in white was Tama's LRIG? or something along those lines. And is now trying to ruin everything.

The battle moves to the real world.

That was even more unexpected, though it sets up season 2 fine. Fall season we get selector spread WIXOSS.

First cour over. No mas until Autumn when delicious Selector Spread Wixoss will be airing.

Sooo, things that happened: The mysterious curly-haired white one spoke to Tama and made her disagree with Ruko so her wish would never come true. She mentioned something about a wish to be together forever...was she talking about Ruko's wish or Tama's wish? Also another, tinier Tama briefly appeared behind her shoulder? Midori made a brief appearance! Then, Iona's wish came true...and Ulitch replaced Iona...and Iona is now Ruko's new LRIG! Creepy!

I don't know how to feel about any of this.

DAT FRIGGIN' ENDING

oh well. it's refreshing they decided to not go for the Madoka approach and went for something else. also LRIG!Iona being Ruuko's Lrig makes me look forward to Spread even more

They pretty much had to skip the Madoka ending for another season to make sense.

I knew they said something about black deck being the featured one in season 2, but I wasn't expecting it like this.

yeah , but the second season was a really well guarded secret. to the point that when it leaked , all sites that extended the leak ended up deleting any trace of it making it look like it was a mess up by some site and not an actual thing, with many people thinking there would only be one season until the end of this episode. also Madoka ending allows for continuations (case in point: Rebellion)

True, but if no one is an LRIG any more I don't see how they could have continued it. At least in Madoka the basic system still existed, only altered. In this it seems like the system would be destroyed.

true, but anyways when they were being so blatant with Ruuko and her wish, and how in this series everything had some twist it was kind of obvious they weren't gonna do it because something would prevent it from happening. what we didn't expect is WHAT exactly it was and what was gonna happen

Second season was leaked after the second episode on one of the official streaming sites. Almost everyone was speculating that the pace was slow because they intent to drag out for a full two season and complained constantly about it. Then people were pissed that it's gonna be a split cour.

That was awesome

I guess Iona's wish Was to be Ru's LRIG? I.e she wanted to fight for someone strong enough to beat her. I suppose it makes sense with how she was saying they were alike. I wonder if they were planning to have this also free Tama if a second season dind't get approved. Nice fallback there. Didn't happen...so where's Tama?

Is Ullith!Iona more or less likeabble now? I can't really tell.

Episode 12:

• The opening added sound effects. Giving off that finale feel, eh?
• So Hitoe did get back her memories. Knew it. And she fights for her friends. Hoo-yeah!
• A different battlefield from the standard. Very suitable for a final battle.
• Darn you and your interference, Mayu! I wonder who Tama is to her...
• MIDORIKO! You're safe! So...where's Piriluk?
• "See you around, scum." At first, I thought Ulith was calling Ruko that. It made no sense to me, and then HOLY CRAP, Iona's Ruko's new LRIG!? Now it made sense.
• So, Iona's wish was to be Ruko's LRIG? Well, that's one way to fight together... Hold there! There should've been a waiting period before Iona went into distribution. But, I guess her wish- no, her desire- bypassed that law, thus shoving Tama^note who couldn't carry out the wish to the sidelines. Now the question is... will Tama come back? Or, since she didn't carry out the wish, is she out of the game forever?
• To spread, then! With more Chiyori, I reckon.
