For me its always instrumental pieces when I think to do so. I actually find Morning of Remembrance is pretty good for motivating me to write. I'm not entirely sure why.

I decided that when I write any fanfiction in the future, it'll be at the tune of this beat from a retro detective show in Japan:

On Moczo's Infinity, I tend to hear (in my head), that either came from Lyrical Nanoha OST, Madoka Magica OST, or in a particular scene, a piano rendition of certain OST (mostly because nobody had created it in proper version, and it's just sound so right in my head).

All the time when writing stories, regardless of regular or fan work. I have a soundtrack for a scene, and I'll listen to it to help me express the mood of the scene.

Yes, indeed!

Though it's usually to clear my head.

Not really. I tend to find it distracting. If I do listen to music while I write, it's usually more on the ambient side, and it's always instrumental.

I have yet to publish anything, but I do listen to music while writing. When reading, however, it's rather quiet, since I read right before I go to sleep.

Can't help but start to use this when I write for any scene, regardless if it's dramatic or not.

Rarely. When writing, I need it to be instrumental if anything, because otherwise I get distracted by the lyrics and want to write another story based on the son.

Not writing, but whenever I read awesome and triumphant scenes, I listen to this music:

I often listen to my Pandora radio. In particular, the 2Cellos, The Piano Guys, and Lindsey Stirling stations. I also listen to Solo Classical Piano, and Classical Radio.

I've been particularly inspired by the Fire Emblem: Echoes soundtrack as well.

I'm essentially always listening to music.

I do appreciate when authors share music which they think suits a chapter or scene particularly well. While it tends to be hit and miss, if they managed to find something which actually fits it's a lot of fun.

I'm leaving for a better world again~!
