Man, I remember this show. Well, in general. In specific, I mostly remember the first few episodes, the music videos, the episode with the counselor obsessed with things being "real", and Genericman.
Man, it was a fun show.
I have a message from another time..."Rudy's got the chalk! Chalk-ch-ch-ch Chalk Zone!"
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceI liked it on Oh Yeah Cartoons. Did not think it was worthy of getting made into its own series, but, I've seen worse.
The three main characters were very likable. Elizabeth Daily made a very convincing boy voice for Rudy, and he acted like a real life kid, too. Not a saint or a obnoxious troublemaker. Rudy is a nice kid, he is just prone to a lot of negative behaviors, but he always fixes himself in the end.
Penny is a sweet, Adorkable girl, with an equally sweet voice. But she was smart and able to look after herself. And Snap is also cute and funny.
As for songs, get a load of this!: [1]
Really fun series.
On my wave, passing oooooooonAlso, I remember years ago buying the soundtrack and feeling ripped off that I paid full price for a CD that had a total length of about 15 minutes.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. One thing I loved about the show were the "Rudy & the Chalkzone Band" songs at the end of the episodes. I'm so in love with the song called "Mumbo Jumbo Jump." I saw the Youtube video and I couldn't help but replay and sing along to it many times.
"Comin' to life" was a pretty upbeat rap about, in it's own way, getting back up after the world has put you down.
"Oh my my" was as good a country song as "Dance with me".
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceDon't forget the more heartwarming songs "Dream a Lotta Dreams" and "The Golden Thumb".
The only one I can recall is "Escucha Mi Corazón".

I have a message from another time...As a kid, I thought Penny looked hot in that Music video.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justice"Come To Life" is actually my 3rd favorite song from that series.
Yes! "Escucha Mi Corazón" was also one of my favorites growing up.
OMG, I always found myself daydreaming about that the scenes when Penny is skating, and I always wished I were in her place, because it looked like fun! The song is actually translated to "Listen To My Heart" in English.
FYI, Penny was always my favorite character of the show.

It also helps that she was so cute because she was voiced by Starfire.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceI liked... NO. Loved this show - unlike Invader Zim, which I've always found stupid and horrible in comparison.
This was one of the most creative Nicktoons ever freaking made, IMHO.
Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.I always liked this show, unlike President Andrew Jackson, of whom I was never fond.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Yeah... Too much & too soon, huh? Sorry.
Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.Never really seen Invader Zim aside from two episodes, so eh. I'm not effected by that comment just curious.
Let's just drop it, then!
Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.I remember sitting in front of the TV to watch this and My Life as a Teenage Robot every weekend on Nick back in 2003. Heck I recall watching the Chalkzone TV movie Big Blow Out and exact scenes from it.
- sigh* Nostalgia. At least we still have Legend of Korra and TMNT.
Hey, those two just happen to be two of my favorite Nicktoons.
Yesterday, the Nicktoon Chalk Zone was made into a series on Nickelodeon 12 years ago. And I decided to make this thread to share our thoughts on the show.
I really liked it. It was lighthearted, and focused on character and environment. The three main characters were particularly likable.
