I'm sorry, it's just every time I read Corneille's posts, I just straight up get a headache.

Same with Kalameet's "this ship is tots mine" act, actually. I enjoy laid back antics as much as the next person, but I still feel there should be some, I dunno, sense to things. With Kalameet's whole deal, especially, I don't really see that holding up in the long term.

That's what aspirin is for . Try reading it out loud, its simply phonetically spelled.

As far as Kalameet, her actions are meant to make some sense, just in a very twisted way. Her motivation for joining the expedition was that she wanted a ship. She is unwilling to serve under someone else due to pride and seeing the treatment her own mother gave her crew (who were really closer to slaves). She could try to take it by force, but even she probably realized that would be suicide (and disruptive to the rp). She does realize that reality is colored by perspective. If she says the boat is hers, and everyone else says the boat is hers, then it is effectively hers (think 1984). The problem comes in that she does not put a very good deception at all, and that's where her being an idiot comes into play. I was trying to play her as simple logic without consideration for context, but maybe I wasn't doing a very good job.

I know it's pronounced phonetically, but that doesn't make the accent seem any less obnoxious to me.

And yes, maybe Kalameet has some strange logic in her head, but what exactly is she going to do when the RP is several weeks in and the boat still isn't "hers"? It feels like you make the character only to have that one off joke that will quickly become irrelevant.

As for the accent, there are TONS AND TONS of characters.

Maybe it can be dialed back a little, but I personally like it and you don't have to read Pancake's posts. Interact with someone else.

And Kalameet? Character development. I am pretty certain that Kalameet can eventually figure out and accept that the ship isn't hers. She's childish that's part of her character.

Honestly Starbound you're the only one complaining here, and it sounds like you're trying to tailor the RP to your tastes. You're not the only player of the RP and we don't have stop something just because you personally don't like it.

Well, as of right now, she believes she is the captain, thus feels she needs to protect the rest of the crew since they are her responsibility now. The only real reason she wants a ship is for a place to pile found treasure in, so as long as she can do that, she is happy. If it becomes painfully obvious to her that she isn't the captain, the she will grudgingly accept not being in command so long as she has a place to put her treasure and the captain is not overbearing (which dosen't seem to be the case). She will still help the rest of the crew if but to protect her possessions as well as friends she make. I'll read the current atmosphere rp takes also, so you don't have to worry about me cheapening someone's heroic sacrifice or the such with cheap jokes.

Well, if I don't like something, why shouldn't I complain? You say I don't have to read his posts, but that's not exactly gonna do me any good if later on in the RP he chooses to interact with me. You say character development, but that doesn't stop it from irritating me now. It's not that I'm trying to say "HEY GUYS THIS IS MY RP, FOLLOW MY RULES" even though it's not, but people told me if I have complaints I should voice them, so here I am, voicing them.

These complaints are really more of personal thing on your part than something that needs to change in the RP. These are opinions and while you're entitled to them I'm sure there are a number of people who have different ones.

Complaints should be saved for things that actually need to change. Like if a character had a all the powers of the other characters combined. Or if someone decided to try and Hijack the narrative. This kind of little thing you should keep to yourself, because now we're doing this over something that's not that big of a deal.

Oh, no, there's no way I'm removing Corneille's accent, it's one of the funnest parts of playing the character . However, it if annoys some people, I'll try to exaggerate it a little less, make him more intelligible.

And I still don't have Skype ;_;, tell me if you reach an important conclusion or something.

After thinking about it, I think I may have detracted from the entertainment of the rp more than I contributed to it. So I am going to go ahead and resign. There is no reason for me to get in the way of other people's fun and I have other avenues of entertainment. Difference in opinion, no hard feelings. Have fun all! May still give that CYOA a read through though.

Oh, and feel free to take any steps to phase out or retcon character.

If the ship's as big as the Titanic, we should all be able to bunk wherever we like, I'd say.
