This trope deals with conversations that, despite making perfect sense in-universe, seem to discuss an element of the work without Breaking the Fourth Wall. This picture is just a straight-up fourth wall break.

This trope is misunderstood enough as it is; we don't need help from a bad picture. I say lean it against the wall and give it to the firing squad.

Current pic:

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."

Motion to pull

Illustrates Panel Break and/or Medium Awareness, not Leaning on the Fourth Wall note .

That description is mighty clever, but it should just be a regular description, methinks.

I wonder if there's some Deadpool examples out there.

It is what it is.

Deadpool currently has the image for Medium Awareness. He's so fond of Breaking the Fourth Wall that cases of non-breaking it are probably hard to GIS.

Articles about an idea that is hard to understand can benefit greatly by having a page image. Certainly a misleading image is worse than nothing, but I wonder if there is something better...

In the meantime, I think we can all agree the current is bad, so I'm pulling it.

As for a replacement, I can't think of anything at the moment. There must be a comic or webcomic out there...

From the trope page: "One famous scene in Young Justice featured the Ray, Impulse, and the Post-Crisis Superboy (Kon-El) talking to each other about how their comics — excuse me, their favorite comics — were cancelled for no reason."

I cannot find it right now, but I remember that scene and I think it would work if anyone found it.

I like that. It's too bad Scrooge says so much, it doesn't really matter.

Not particularly fond of it. Not strongly against, I just think that Donald's Aside Comment isn't a good illustration (especially since Scrooge is so busy talking). There's no pretense of Breaking the Fourth Wall to subvert.

[up][up][up] I like it.

Also, can we move the current picture to Breaking the Fourth Wall? It's better than what we currently have on there.

Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!

[up][up] That doesn't matter. This trope is not Breaking the Fourth Wall subverted, but comments that get close to it without breaking it, which Scrooge's pic shows.

There's a lot of irrelevant text, but it kind of works.

[up][up][up] I disagree with that last bit; the current pic on Breaking the Fourth Wall is fine as is.

Is anyone else that's using the compacted folders seeing something weird going on with the folders on Leaning on the Fourth Wall? A lot of them are noticeably offset.
