[up][up]I was terrible. To this day, I've never finished the Riddle Trophies or the AR Training in City and its simply because the flying is just too... messy? It wasn't built for precision. Its not impossible, but many people found those difficult to an annoying degree. The YMMV page would support this.

If Arkham Knight takes place in a single night, I wonder if the damage done to the city will be sustained (as in, if you take out a wall, it'll remain destroyed for the rest of the game) or if they'll suddenly be rebuilt when the area is reloaded.

Also, I really giggled when the Penguin said 'Don't worry about the Batman. He's about to be extinct.' Famous last words?

Hmm, I was always good at the gliding. It surprises me that there are people critical of it. The AR Training in front of the courthouse was nearly impossible though. I eventually got it.

[up]Same, up to and including having the most trouble with the Courthouse one.

Is it my imagination, or does gliding look faster than in the other Arkham games?

[up]I think it could be because he launched out of the Batmobile that might be why it looked faster.

I was okay with the AR missions I completed them but it took me a long time to finish some of them.

As many complaints about Arkham Origins as I had, one of them was not AR Missions. Sure, there were more, but I at least was able to complete them, unlike in City.

I wonder if there will be AR training for the bat mobile.

It really does look faster to me; even when he's ascending.

It's called practice people, learn it, do it, get better. The one i had trouble with was the one in the tunnel by the joker car. That was pretty tough.

Gliding definitely looks faster this time around. Bats seems to fall faster, definitely has higher speed (he clears buildings and streets in times much faster than anything we saw in City or Origins) and makes sharp, agile turns.

Batmobile looks like basic "drivin' cars" gameplay to me, but the big thing I liked about that segment is despite how they're doing the "city evacuated, nobody but crooks on the street because reasons" thing again, there still seems to be action going on on the street level. Random people driving around, hi-speed chases, no pedestrians but it still feels a bit alive, which is nice.

so what's up with the new "Fear Takedown"? i've played the clip where he does it a dozen times, but Bats is moving so fast i couldn't see his movements that clearly.

it looks like he throws a flare or something at the place he was perched after jumping off, and the enemies are distracted by that thing as Bats takes them down unimpeded. is that right?

also, i noticed an Anarky tag on the rooftop shortly before Bats heads in to confront Penguin. could that be hinting at his presence in the game?

wild mass guessAnarky turns out to be Ulysses Hadrian Armstrong this time around, and he's the big bad of a Robin subplot.wild mass guess

What, a guy can dream can't he? Granted, Armstrong as Anarky isn't one of my favorite turns, but Armstrong is still one of my favorite periphery Bat-family villains.

Yeah, practicing AR is good if you're not on a PC that lags heavily and thus causes a lot of slight mistakes to occur with steering.

[up]x3 It's a new Predator move that allows you to insta-takedown multiple enemies in a small area as long as they haven't seen you yet.

No idea how they'll balance Predator rooms against that, tho.

i saw a counter on the screen as Bats got into position, underneath a notification saying that the takedown was available. i'm assuming it means that he can only do it on a set number of enemies in certain places.

Yeah, so far the max is three Fear Takedowns per encounter. When I get this game, I'm going to do that at every opportunity.

Maybe to balance this out, they'll put in more Mooks per Predator Room, or make it available only for open-world stuff.

It's probably accounting for grouping, location, numbers and how alert they are (blissfully unaware vs. tense and checking corners). If already startled it may simply not be available, or there might be a timed Action Command to pull it off properly in certain spaces.

I can't say I really like the new Scarecrow design, but still he looks like a terrifying mix of the classic Scarecrow look and an undead suicide bomber. A couple of the designs in the series in general were a little excessive for me, like Bane and Killer Croc. I liked their redesigns in Origins because it simplified their look and gave them more personality as a result. Instead of being a grotesquely disfigured monster with tubes coming out of everywhere Bane was a normal-looking but mountainous man, and the venom tubes had a minimal exposure. Croc was similar, he looked like a mutated human instead of a demon or alien creature.

I'm not sure if the Batmobile mobile artillery mode will be my favorite, as it looks like a genre shift to a tank war game. The actual driving looks impressive, basically anything that isn't a building or solid Earth you can smash through, the concrete dividers on the staircase crumbling away was a cool graphical demonstration. In some games they are sometimes arbitrary over what you can actually drive through, telephone pole is fine but a Fruit Cart stops you?

SO HYPE!

I just finished playing Arkham City again, and I can't wait for Knight. I'm assuming Red Hood will also be available in the challenge maps, so I'm super excited.

DC's releasing some action figures based off the Arkham Knight characters.

I really like the Scarecrow one.

Ugh.

Not sure if I'm enthusiastic about the antagonist. "Batman with high-tech, symbol-mocking costume, and an army of drones that move into Gotham."

Where is Superman, and who's this new Bat-fake? Jason Todd? Somebody from the Court of Owls? The Joker? New 52 Azazel?

The back of his armor and the length of his cowl's ears being subtle knocks at Batman seems like an exaggeration that won't even be commented on in-game. But then, matching Batman against "Anti-Batmen" (Ra's, Red Hood, Owlman, TDKR Bane, Origins Deathstroke) is always pretty entertaining.
