I actually already broke the news here...
But yeah, it's happening, and it's really exciting.
I can imagine the Powerpuffs taking on evil robots, and Dexter too... But how will the Eds deal with evil robots?!

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."The Eds are gag characters, anything can happen.
Probably Ed can beat them with his strength and Double D with his genius. Eddy, however... Eddy is kinda useless.
And a series of one shots featuring other CN characters is coming out too! Johnny Bravo and Cow And Chicken, Billy And Mandy and Kids Next Door...

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Would it be too much asking for Megas Xlr? Courage The Cowardly Dog?
I gotta admit, though, as much I'd love to see a Courage issue of the series, the other shows kinda deserve their moments in the sun.
(Besides... Chowder and Flapjack, as well as several other shows that deserve their own issues, aren't getting any. And I really wonder why Adventure Time and Regular Show aren't there, given how popular they are.)
Hopefully The Powerpuff Girls and Dexters Laboratory are in the same universe in this series. Major Glory and Koosalagoopagoop already appeared in both shows.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Adventure Time and Regular Show are Boom.
Also I can see Ed being useful for his strength, and Edd makign stuff. Eddy is a pretty good stratigist planner when it comes down to it.
I thought they were the same guys. Guess I was wrong.
Eddy may be the brains, but he's frightfully out of his depth when it comes to evil robots.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Needs more of the action cast. Samurai Jack, Juniper Lee, that lot.
Samurai Jack is in the comic, as well as Ben 10.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."C'mon, IDW, do the legal grappling and get us a Cartoon Network/My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic crossover. Him and Discord! Dee Dee and Pinkie Pie! Celestia and Grandpa Max!
Ya know, if they do eventually use Courage, they could do a crossover with the X-Files.
True.
In "Members Only," Major Glory appears as the leader of a superhero team.
There's another episode where Koosalagoopagoop appears as Bubbles' imaginary friend. Everybody refers to him as "Not that Koos jerk!"
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Oh right. I remember that one.
Where the superhero team wouldn't let the girl join after they (the Power puffs) proved to be actually stronger then them.
One Strip! One Strip!I just noticed something when looking into this upcoming event, the current X-Files event, and the previous Mars Attacks and Infestation events... IDW really loves doing crossovers, don't they?

IDW's love of crossovers is why I'm convinced its only a matter of time before we get a Transformers/My Little Pony crossover event.
You there! Check out my Youtube Channel! The power of Ponies compel you!Does anyone mind if I make a "General Cartoon Network Comics by IDW" discussion?
Sorry for double posting, but I've went ahead with the general CN comics by IDW discussion page.
Anyhow, someone was nice enough to create a page on this awesome thing made of awesome sauce.
so did anybody read the first issue? I like that the Ed's managed to stop the robot by themselves.
Fuck...
I'm nowhere near a good comic store. I can't buy a copy.
FUCK.
I do hope to get home and buy one though...
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."I'd get the first issue, but I don't have enough dough to get it on the Comixology website. Lousy Comixology management not letting us iPhone and iPad users pay for comics using the funds in our iTunes account.

I can't say I was impressed by the first issue. Odds are I'll probably pass on most the story.
OK... Thoughts on the first issue, right here.
It was a perfectly fine set up for the story. Most of the characters were, well, in-character, which shows the writers did some research.
The first one-shot issue will feature Johnny Bravo. This ought to be funny...
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Following up on that, I finally have a copy of the first one-shot issue, with Johnny Bravo, which I think is pretty enjoyable.
It's a Johnny solo effort, with none of the other characters appearing. While this may have been so that the writers wouldn't have to choose which version of Johnny to appear in the comic, it's kind of disappointing. (I wanted to see what Carl would've done with a giant killer robot.)
Despite that, Johnny is still in character, there's quite a few good jokes, and the twist at the end is pretty funny.
There's also a backstory as to how the various CN villains came to meet each other. (In this comic's universe, Mandark was also named Susan when he was born. I guess they've alienated everyone who hates the later episodes.)
The next one-shot issue features Billy and Mandy, and I'm really awaiting that. (I'm also awaiting the Cow and Chicken one-shot. It ought to be great...)
EDIT: I actually found a copy of the second issue recently. I like it - there's more character interaction. Can't wait to see the rest of it.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."
So, I noticed no one here has talked about this, so I might as well address it.
Holy crap, this is happening. Any thoughts?
