What exactly is a Glype Proxy? It sounds like something I'd flush down the toilet after a night of binge drinking.
Edit: The only hits I get (that I can access from my work connection) indicate that it's a kind of downloadable web proxy. Unless something on our backend got compromised, I cannot imagine that we're running open proxy software.
However, we do have a proxy set up to redirect traffic from our public IP as a defense against distributed denial of service attacks. I don't know if that's what your administration is referring to, but if so, it's harmless.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!" Not sure. There's a website for Glype, but the nannyware's also blocking that... (>_<)
Yeah, I'm not sure why it's being blocked.

We're clean as far as this site reports. I'd suggest that it's a false positive. It might also be the result of malware on your school's laptops.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Yeah. I was thinking maybe an ad or something like that caused it, but considering the trouble I was having with it earlier today, I'm starting to doubt it...

Apologies for double-posting, but it happened again. I don't even leave the premises with the laptop until a few hours from now, and it's giving me the "Glype Proxy" thing again!
Maybe it's a poorly designed nanny software?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman...Yeah, I'm starting to think so. (>_>)
Bet you couldn't show me a good internet filtering proxy.
Can you test to block the ads? If you still get the "Glype Proxy" thing with ads blocked it might be something else.
The nannyware already blocks the ads. The reason why I thought it was that was the ads the last time this had happened, I had brought it to a place with no such nannyware...
Faulty nannyware seems like the logical answer. The thing cleared up later...
...And it seems fine now...

I'm driving down Highway 40 in my big old pickup truck
Apparently, the nannyware at my school thinks parts of the site is using the Glype Proxy and is blocking said parts. This only happens on the laptops, and once I clear the internet history, the blocking goes away... for a while. Any clue what's going on and how to fix it?
