I prefer 4. The suggestion just feels too busy.

But if someone wants to whip up a version of 4 that has a zoom on the disclaimer (making it legible while still letting us know how tiny it is) I might support that.

Okay, here's what I cooked up for my take on #8. Exact same idea, slightly different presentation:
(Alternately, I like how #8 has the arrow ... I just think the closeup part should be offset slightly outside the image's borders, and possibly highlighted red, to make it stand out.)

The Covers Always Lie image is great IMO, and that cover tells the truth.

Current's good and an absolutely stellar example, but it relies on the caption that Wolverine's not in there. Here's my suggestion
