How did they manage to avoid having trolls toss the master ball this time?
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayThis is still going on?
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Partially as they tried it and discovered the difficulty spike. Partially to have some fun.
We hope.
Some also see him as a spy who specialises in crossdressing and is Exclamachu's body double. But that's more common, yes.
I like what they're doing with her.
Not even close. Chloe had, like, seven.
Again, no. Chloe caught two legendaries in masterballs. And catching a fossil pokemon in Heartgold was pretty appropriate.
Using it in a trainer battle doesn't use it up anymore.
Absolutely. It's been awesome. We're redoing Red in a pokedex completion run on the anniversary next. Then Blue all in democracy and a bunch of RO Mhacks.
I'm currently playtesting an alpha game based on the lore. It's a load of fun.

Also, their entire team is finally fully evolved. Hi, Whismur V the Exploud.
That's been a meme in itself for a while now.
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyIf they're doing a democracy run of Blue, I really hope they can get people organized to exploit amusing glitches.
Can't imagine how that'd work though, since democracy is hella boring to play in.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayI don't think it could be a meme if it's a legitimate question.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.People are already thinking about trying to exploit amusing glitches in anniversary Red and democracy Blue.
They've done side-games in total democracy, most importantly, Pokemon Conquest. They were pretty succesful and apparently pretty fun.
Sadly, the trainer fly glitch (aka the Mew glitch) will be impossible in democracy because it requires a quick button press. The Walk Through Walls glitch requires turning off and restarting the game IIRC, so that's out too. They can at least still do Missingno though.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayThere's a debate about Missingno. Everyone wants to do it, but many people are scared that it will corrupt stuff.
It's a real shame that they can't do the mew glitch. That one barely corrupts anything (AFAIK, the only corruption is that it removes the last removeable map element you saw. I.e. if you saw Snorlax, then the snorlax will go away)
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayTwitch Plays Pokemon is back to playing Pokemon.
Mega Bird Jesus?! I want this game already.

As one of the alpha testers, it's lots of fun so far.

I kind of want to play that if only because it seems like its devs and writers have a great sense of humor, so I'd imagine the script is pretty funny.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. That is very much Zetsu's style of humour.
There are both funny and serious parts.
EDIT: Also, we got the Dome fossil.

420 PRAISE IT
Also definitely wasn't expecting them to fully evolve Charizard that easily.

"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyI still can't believe it's going.
I'm kinda unsure if they can succeed this time.
They're trying to do a full-Pokedex run, in a hacked rom that has all 151 (and some mechanic for respawning legendaries I think) but is also much more difficult. There's a lot of new challenges here:
- Money for balls! Previous runs got by with a minimalist team and a pile of junk from the Safari Zone, but this time around they'll need a crapton of pokeballs, and they black out so often it's hard to hold onto money... they've managed to buy about 20 balls so far, and caught several mons, but it's going to get a lot harder when they're down to the rare targets with low catch rates and low appearance rates.
- They have to evolve things (lots of things), and with b-spammers it's as hit-or-miss as ever. They have a Charizard, but also a Kakuna that has failed to evolve 5 times in a row. They need at least two additional Eevees, which are in the wild but seem to be quite rare...
- Changing PC boxes. Gen 1 won't let you catch anything if the current box is full! And since they need to fully evolve everything, the PC shenanigans are real. They already released 2 mons while fighting to retrieve the Town Map. The release option is right above the change-box option... Once they've caught a lot of stuff the PC is going to go on a killing spree.
- I wasn't kidding about this romhack being harder. Brock had an Aerodactyl and Misty's level 18 Staryu is now a level 29 Lapras. I'm not sure the "get overleveled and bash your way through" strategy is going to work for the Elite Four this time, especially since the good mons have a very slim chance of surviving the quest to catch 'em all (see above).
At least it'll be "fun." For the first few months...
Well, the novelty of the first run was answering "Can they actually do it?", so it's fitting that this one would try to recreate that feeling. And if nothing else, they have a vaguely-defined Democracy timer should things go awry.
The hard mode hack does seem a bit much, though, even if it is providing some new sights.
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyDoes the hack prevent one-time map encounters from being Lost Forever?
Yes, it does. They respawn after a certain number of steps.
Also, evolution cancellation is harder in gen 1.
Also, more ways of earning money have been promised.
I heard somewhere that they respawn when you leave the area. They sorta have to, even with a mechanic like that it'll be very hard to catch them, especially if they didn't crank up the capture rates.
...Ninja'd, but anyway. They can probably make it through, with help from the streamer (free pokeballs?), but... "Season 2" may end up being just this game. Evolution cancelling may be harder than in, say, Black, but the Jorsuns are doing a pretty good job of it so far.

Jorsun is still at it, a year later? Man, that level of trolling takes some dedication.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play
They've got all the badges now, and have temporarily shunned the elite four in favor of doing random sidequests.
Tons of releases in the first couple days (they killed the fire starter, what a surprise), which successfully scared people away from the PC from then on. The oldest team member who hasn't been permaboxed or executed is "Feminun" the transgender Minun. T4 the Azumarill is the apparent successor to M4, and has Huge Power this time, but lost rollout.
Caught two legendaries (not counting the freebie Latios), probably a record; and I'm pretty sure Azelf is their first non-idiotic master-balling since Zapdos way back in Red. Too bad only Latios actually gets to be in the party.
