This is leagues better than Breadwinners!
I may like Uncle Grandpa(though y'all have a point about that show being crazy & stupid I don't dare argue with.) and Steven Universe (now that it's truly found its legs!) - but I think I'm slowly in love with this show - despite how early it is to tell.
My take on the competition at Nickelodeon (still the losers, BTW.): Breadwinners and Sanjay And Craig tried to be like those 3 examples - and all they've done is once again make people miss the old days of Nickelodeon - when gross-out humor WASN'T the only thing shows of the past on that channel had (there was actual sense of heart, effort, and respect for viewers like you, me, and the kids they were otherwise aimed at, BUT DIDN'T talk down to.).
Sure, people miss the old days of CN, as well (more action and girl - centric programming are essential to fixing SOME of their issues wit programming...) - but as long as the shows above mention exist, there are only so many changes CN really needs as long as those 3 examples put butts in seats.
Lot more nice things I can say about these first two segments of show that'll ever come out of my mouth than Sanjay And Craig and Breadwinners, that's for sure!
Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.Rewatched ep 1 again. Sumo's girly toy song gave me some ironic feels. Sad how something you would hate turns out to be your best prize.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceI've rewatched the first two episodes two or three times now, and I am in love with this. I needed something fresh and original on Cartoon Network, especially with Amazing Wo G on hiatus and with the quality of Regular show dipping.
Can't wait to see more of this show. I think I like it a lot more than Uncle Grandpa as well.
I'm surprised I actually enjoyed what I've seen thus far, for the most part. I'm not as big into this as others yet, but I've only seen a single episode thus far, so I'll have to catch up. Regardless, compared to the previews - which REALLY made me not care for it or think it be worth it at all - it definitely has far better than initially perceived.
Improving as an author, one video at a time.I wonder what the deal is with CN and it's shitty commercialization for new shows? Is it a physcological test in Never Judge By A Trailer or is it that they're that lazy to make good announcements?
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceHow are they shitty with commercialization?
Uncle Grandpa commercials. And I think way back when, the commercials for Adventure Time after chating with some tropers were really lousy. It's the quality of telling the plot/info on the show.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceWell Uncle Grandpa is pretty random and odd to begin with. They simply use the short skits at the end of the episodes for the commercials.
On an unrelated note, check out this forum games topic!
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceI thought this would be like Uncle Grandpa or Annoying Orange, but this show's enjoyable so far and in fact I enjoyed it more than most of the episodes of Steven Universe. I also like that they touched upon OCD and romantic interest in the opposite sex.
Yeah I was surprised. It has touching moments. It's like Hey Arnold. Something Breadwinners and Uncle Grandpa and Annoying Orange severely need.
Check the Bread Winners thread and see why it doesn't need that hate.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceThat was a pretty good episode. The only thing puzzling was the fact half the things the boys did would be considered vandalism. But the scene with driving games really brings me back.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceYeah, revisiting some episodes of Uncle Grandpa myself (and I like that show, but I agree it's stupid.), that is a valid argument when comparing it to this show (and it's only been 2 full episodes now! That's pretty damn good so far.).
Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.Those can be excused due to how it's a cartoon and a lot of stuff is exaggerated from the usual children's antics.
It's odd. I think the characters in UG are likable but the stories and jokes are mostly a miss.

Nailed it, m8 - the slapstick and characters are there, but the humor can be really hit or miss, especially any episodes NOT involving the gang helping children (or talking dogs), for example, IMHO...
But I think that's enough talk about that show - I'm more concerned about the hate this show continues to get. Then again, I'm not watching this show, so I can't say I care... Except most of the hate isn't justifiable when I analyze things deeper.

Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.I wanna see these guys really do things that propels them from being likable to being the best characters of the evening!
I'm sure anyone keeping up with that show wants the same thing (including me), so you're not alone.

Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.I wanted to see Pizza Steve get some lesson for being so self-centered all the time. We KINDA got that with the episode about him controlling a boy's brain like a video game, but in the end he doesn't learn a lesson. Tiger should've kicked ass more. Kids should make these guys learn life lessons just as much as they teach them too.
But this is a Clarence thread.
There's actual hate for this? How come and on what about it?

Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceFrom what I can gather, it's more of the typical "durr Cartoon Network sux nao" stuff.
Also, second episode, even better than the first. I've even hooked a few friends on this show! I might even start calling coupons "mom money" now.
While I like this show I can see why people would dislike it. The main characters are strange, the non main characters are jerks, they all look weird, their voices are hit and miss, and the art style and animation is not that great.
I guess it's a gritty fingerpaint-style that's suppose to look cute and innocent like a childs coloring book. Plus, if this is bad, than Rick and Morty's is worse. Their eyes are astrixes!*

Watched the first set of episodes, and I about died laughing. This show is a huge breath of fresh air in what's becoming a bit of a glut of "OMG so zany and whacky XD" kinds of shows (Uncle Grandpa IMO being the biggest offender in that regard), and it's amazing for it. Clarence reminds me of a kid I knew until sixth grade, and they're all very likeable and realistic. I have very high hopes for this show's future.
