Eh, I don't know. Never seen all of Dexter Laboratory before.
But I did enjoy watching season 6, it had Sequel Episodes to both the show and The Movie. (It's very rare for animated work to openly acknowledged there Movies, the only other work I know that did that was Rugrats)
Comedy or plot didn't dwell on stupidity and the character redevelop from there Derailment that happen in the 5th Season.

So that's why Season 5 & 6 of PPG are such easy targets for hate (especially season 5)...
Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.Ditto for the Games Animation Ren and Stimpy episodes. There are some low standard ones, but it was a pretty minor case of Seasonal Rot in comparison to some others here. Some like Insomniac Ren and Stimpy's Cartoon Show hold up great against the Spumco ones.
As for Dexter's Lab, I remember some being pretty lousy or just plain weird (The Mandark or Quackor Cartoons), though Tartakovsky's stuff always did that to some degree, others were just plain out lazy parodies ("Dexter's Wacky Races" for crying out loud). It was about half and half however, Momdark was pretty good, and for all the odd retcons involving Mandark, the cartoon where the two dads fight was hilarious (duck fight).

In comparison to what John K. did to his own characters when he got the rights back, the worst of Games Animation seems like "Stimpy's Invention".
I had somewhat figured out that the supposed "retcon" may not actually be a retcon; after all, we never saw what Mandark's parents were really like in the first two seasons, right? And you could interpret everything going in "A Boy Named Sue" as taking place before "Dexter's Rival" - all it takes is a little imagination.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."- Avatar: The Last Airbender: "The Great Divide". I liked that it helped with Aang's role as a peacekeeper, and They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot with Wei Jin and Jin Wei. (Aang's "explanation" was the series' worst moment before Korra, though, I'll give you that.)
- My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic: "Feeling Pinkie Keen", although I admit I defend this one partially because the entire Fan Dumb immediately looked at the moral and went "This is religious propaganda! Let's go burn a few crosses!" even though, one, how dare you, and two, you really have to read way too deep into it to see it that way.
- The Fairly Oddparents: Just about any episode with Poof. Seriously, what's everyone's problem with him?!
On the subject of the Dexter's Lab revival:
I just watched a bit of it today, and it's not as good as the first two seasons.
Though "A Mandark Cartoon" was clever.
Actually PPG season 5 has my favorite episode: The Musical episode "See Me, Feel Me, Gnomey" (the episode that never aired in the US)
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Wouldn't that be season 6, since it's the series finale (aside from all the later specials)?
And yeah, "Momdark" was pretty decent as well. Really, even ignoring all the bizarre retcons about him, the Mandark-centric episodes in the revival usually tended to be pretty good, all things considered.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.It was put on the Season 5 disc in the Complete Series set.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Weird.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I've never been able to understand why people call what happened to Mandark "retcons"... I mean, hell, we never met his parents at all before then, didn't we?
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Maybe it's not a retcon but it's an very unexpected overhaul onto his character, considering he was introduced as an Always Someone Better type character in his first appearance. I guess it's also the fact it implies he unnaturally boosted his IQ and ambitions solely on a very petty grudge against Dexter. He wouldn't give two shits about science if it wasn't the means to screw Dexter over.
Oh and there's his sister that disappeared after one appearance.

By the second season at least Dexter and Mandark were portrayed as equals... From what I remember, that is.
Didn't he turn to science as a means of getting away from his hippie parents? I think that's how it went, but regardless, he was scientifically minded before he met Dexter.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."While I like seasons 5 and 6 of PPG as well (there's something utterly adorable about the Steampuff Girls carrying those huge chimneys on their backs, and it was hilarious seeing Mojo and Him fighting over the Rowdyruffs' love), the Gnomey episode I found actually awful, from the way it seemed to drag on and on to this new character coming out of the blue and pwning everyone just like that.
On the subject of PPG, I love(and always have loved) Speed Demon, one of the most infamous episodes that most kids got scared shitless at.
(Agender. They/Them pronouns.)I thought everyone liked that episode.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."I never liked "Speed Demon" as much as a child because I found it too scary. I did like the ending though.
The Gnomey episode, I don't really like that much. Another troper said that it felt too rushed, and I agree.
Re: Mandark: There's also that they changed his birth name, changed his first meeting with Dexter (just showing up at school one day vs. greeting and being made fun of by him when he first moved in), totally changed the look of his lab...
I mean, if none of those are retcons, I don't know what is.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I also didn't mind Mysterious Mare Do Well
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!I can buy Dexter forgetting about Mandark, though, because he's that absent minded when it isn't directly about SCIENCE!
Let's see...
Changed his first name: Astronomenoff was his last name. He was addressed as "Mr." - which would imply that his first name was different.
Changed his first meeting with Dexter: Well, it could have conceivably happened before "Dexter's Rival." He was also dressed far differently - like a hippie, if you remember.
Changed the look of his lab: I'll give you that one. They spent so little time in Mandark's lab I can barely remember how it looks.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Also, someone here mentioned "A Mandark Cartoon"? Which yes, might be one of the funniest things the show's ever done?
Seriously, I can never eat breakfast anymore without going "CHEW CH-CHEW, CHEW CH-CHEW CH-CHEW!"
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. That's probably the best episode of the revival
And I believed Genndy wasn't involved as much the revival was because he was working on Samurai Jack and later Star Wars Clone Wars (the 2003 series)
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life! That one I thought was funny at first, but then it really annoyed me when I realized it was one of those shorts that just runs one gag into the ground. Besides, what makes the laugh funny isn't the rhythm of it, but how it's such a weak, nerdy imitation of evil laughter...
My theory is that she died.
(Agender. They/Them pronouns.)
Weird thing about the Dexter revival. People keep saying it sucks because Genndy Tartakovsky wasn't involved in it.
Apparently, though, for at least the third season he sat in to help out with the storyboards and contributed ideas!
