A sliding scale for genres other than rock and metal would be a nice idea.

There should definitely be an established minimum rock influence, but I see no reason for the list to be strictly about rock or metal, given all the blurred lines present in genres like pop and techno. I agree that musicians like Rihanna and Katy Perry probably don't belong on this list. But Kelly Clarkson and P!nk (at least on her last two or three albums) could just as easily fall under the Rock label as they do under the Pop label. So I see no reason why they should be excluded.

Several issues with this page, previously brought up in Ask The Tropers. Content from mine and Fast Eddie's posts in Ask The Tropers are being referred to here.
- Article is in main namespace when it belongs in Just for Fun.
- Article has become bloated in attempt to encompass all types of music instead of just rock and metal, as the pun in the name suggests. Bloat should be removed.
- Definition of 'hardness' is unclear throughout, and often confuses the 'hardness' found in rock, metal, and some dubstep with the 'harshness' often found in noise music and IDM. (Not to say that both can't be present, for example in the case of My Bloody Valentine's 'You Made Me Realise') I am creating a new sliding scale for harshness to help counter this problem.
