It's been a while since I've played, and I'm still preparing for the Countess battle. In the meantime:
- Got jumped by the Fanatic in the Ruins, but managed to kill him despite having a less-than-optimal party. Don't really remember the exact composition, but I remember team members not being able to do much depending on where the Fanatic decides to move. Best part is that he didn't even manage to kill anyone, despite some of my units being on Death's Door due to his pyre.
- Swine God battle went kind of badly. I should've given my Arbalist more Speed trinkets so she could clear out the Marks; the Swine God ended up sending a lot of my team members to Death's Door, and then Wilbur's squeals end up killing them. My Occultist managed to kill the Swine God right before Wilbur killed him, and since my Arbalist can't do anything in Rank 1, I had to flee the battle. Still, since I killed the Swine God, it was still Mission Accomplished, even though Arbalist was the sole survivor...well, at least I got an achievement for it. Whopee.
- Ran into a Swine Skiver, the last of the "Elite Four" that I needed for an achievement. I think I might've gotten lucky, because the Swine Skiver didn't do much damage to my team overall. So far, the Bone Bearers have proven to be the most troublesome of the Elite Four.
- Beat the Champion-level Prophet. Seems like the Prophet's calamitous predictions target two characters more often. Funnily enough, my Man-At-Arms dodged more than half of the falling ceiling attacks that got thrown his way. Too bad my Crusader spent the entire battle chopping wood instead of insane Prophet; I know Crusaders don't hit the back row very well, but I brought him along since he cleaves through skeletons quite well, and it proved helpful when I ran into a Bone Bearer on my way to the Prophet. Thankfully I didn't lose anyone, even though I had to deal with the Collector before reaching the Prophet.
I still need to take on the Champion versions of the Pounder, the Flesh, and the Drowned Crew. Haven't even touched the Darkest Dungeon yet, since I want to beat all the bosses from the other areas and fight the Countess. Hopefully the Countess will not be as much of a hassle as the Viscount. The Viscount was a serious kick in the nuts.

Plague Doctor (probably) confirmed for a brunette (also zero chill, unsurprisingly)
Ah, so that's apparently the unfortunate Subject #40 mentioned in the Plague Doctor's Crimson Court trinkets.
Yep, no freaky eldritch monster. Just an old professor dying from something.
Darkest Dungeon will soon be ambiguously browner in a standalone class DLC.
And if you'd rather praise the sun for free, here you go.
Nice design. Wish that we got a more concrete release date other than "Coming Soon," but it'll be nice to see what she's capable of.
Is it just me, or is that character missing her right hand?

I presume she didn't break a shield with her hand, but otherwise - yes. The dismembered right hand in the background makes me certain.
It seems like she'll specialize in killing enemies that are under Guard by other enemies.
I'm guessing that definitely has a gruesome story behind it. Wonder if she keeps her own severed hand somewhere on her person.
Her story is to hunt after the snake that stole her hand, which is still trying but failing to eat it whole.
DD announced for Switch, no word on Reynauld being in the next Super Smash Bros. as of yet.
I doubt any of the Darkest Dungeon characters will make it onto Super Smash Bros.. The moment they get sent flying off the stage, they don't come back.
They just went to a secret gambling ring, left in search of a holy vision, went on a personal vision quest of enlightenment, etc.
Ooooh I really like her design.
Well, my first attempt against the Countess didn't go so well.
I managed to get her health down to less than halfway, but she ended up killing my Vestal and Plague Doctor. I managed to get my Flagellant and Man-At-Arms out of there, but they weren't in good shape.
I've managed to recruit a new Highwayman (I'm not risking Dismas against the Countess since I want him to be there for the final boss in the game), so I'm training him up to see if using Riposte would help.
re; Switch release: wonder if touch controls are an option? Could practically play the whole game with just that.
I did it! I finally killed the Countess on my third try! Sure, I lost an Occultist and a Leper in the process, but at least they were a lot of help in bringing the Countess's health down to the point where my Highwayman and Flagellant could just let her bleed out and die.
All in all, a great boss battle. Now I got to prepare to face the Courtyard Guardian so I can get more of the Crimson Court trinkets.
Shieldbreaker's out. Here is comic. Snakes just really like that tasty arm meat I guess
"Stealth" now exists for some enemies, which some moves dispel and AoE damage striking them will break it.

Either that or it got bit and she cut her arm off to stop the poison.
Or, now that I look at the bottom panel closer, she cut it off to escape the snakes.

...yeah, I wasn't up for thinking at the time. Yours make more sense.
But mine's still funnier.
Looks cool, plus there's some new monsters to boot. This is one of the few cases where I enjoy DLC because it's worthwhile and not something carved from the original game.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Mod for eyes for our heroes. Much worse than it sounds like.
Problem of "Don't who's the artist" solves itself, it's nice, like when when your archenemy suddenly dies in a car crash.
