Apparently people find that Naked People Are Funny.
Almost wondering if I ought to just start over.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984That's what I did.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.If I restart, does anyone know a good guide to get started with? I'm not about to ask for a complete walk-through but I've mucked around in the early game and just found myself stalling out like post-necromancer acolyte/crazy cult witch...whatever like the first two non-siren bosses are. I know I haven't killed her yet because that run is basically when my playthrough died, RNG gave me a Total Party Kill and I've been spinning my wheels just trying to recruit some idiots who aren't insane, cowardly perverts and get a level or two under their belts without becoming insane, cowardly perverts...and failing every time.
EDIT: Oh, I just remembered—isn't there a shorter-not-easy mode in the game now? That would probably be a good way to restart.

"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Okay, second day of the new game; I killed the Apprentice Necromancer and attempted the Courtyard again. Managed to kill the Crocadilian but we lost our Vestal in the process and two out of the three remaining people were Afflicted. Which is a shame because we'd gotten rid of two hives this time >.>
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.That party image is really handy, the kind of general tips I like versus "WALL OF TEXT AND MATH".
Though, I will argue "Don't blame the RNG, you're just bad" and "reading guides doesn't keep you from being fucked" are mutually exclusive. No amount of planning ever makes up for your team missing every attack and the enemy critting every attack.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984- Collector shows up
- Flagellant is already Rapturous
- Occultist has just contracted Crimson Curse (I think it's a little too easy to catch the thing, especially since you are not destroying a party of 4 Supplicants in one turn)
- Bounty Hunter crits the Collector for 46.
- Apprentice BH on a Lvl. 1 journey to the Warrens.
- It dies in the backrow from Flagellant's bleed.
One time, the tables have turned.

How do lizards fly?Apparently the Crimson Curse can kill your characters? Never got a chance to find out, since the party I sent into the Courtyard got wiped by the Crocodilian, including the two that got afflicted with the Crimson Curse.
Ah well. Will try to kill the Croc again later. In the meantime, I'm really digging the designs of the new enemies. These are, without a doubt, some of the most unique takes on vampires I've ever seen.
From what I have seen ff they have it they can get a thirst for blood which if fed a blood item gives them buffs, leave it alone and it might accelerate causing stress every turn till they die. If it accelerates and you feed them blood it goes back to normal aka you dont get a buff.
If infected it can spread to other people at your base.
Oh Light, please no. I've just received a notification that The Fanatic has been let loose, I don't want even more Crimson Cursed peeps at my Estate. ;-;
How do lizards fly?Wait, what died in the back row from the Flagellant's bleed? The Collector?
Also, the Crimson Curse can kill your characters, I think, if they go too long without the Blood. I had an Arbalest get really weak because I didn't bring any with me and give it to her, but she lived to the end of the mission.
Is there any way to cure the Curse?

That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.The tutorial for the curse says there is but I have yet to find it.
Death solves all problems, no man, no problem.
The Collector. It only had time to summon some heads, but since neither of them was a Collected Vestal, it just kind of petered out in the backrow.
I presume that curing the CC may have something to do with beating either The Fanatic or the bosses in the Courtyard (Crocotick notwithstanding).

How do lizards fly?Early on, should I particularly care about any heroes who arrive? A dude shows up with three perks and a pretty minimal flaw, do I want to protect this guy at all or just use him to grease the Hamlet's progress until...some point in the game when I know I should be developing characters.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Finally beat the first part of the Courtyard. Ran into two Sycophants and two Supplicants on a mission to the Warrens, too. I'd imagine they'll become more pervasive as the infection spreads out.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.>take an explore 90% of rooms quest
>Start in the middle of a fork
why does this happen
"Inebriated on vice and decadence, I dabbled in secrets that I could not fathom and plied an unskilled hand at architecture.
To our family's eternal shame, I have misplaced the toilet within the confides of the manor."

"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984The rematch against the Crocodilian went much better. The Flagellant's Punish skill was a great boon since it has the chance to inflict Bleed for 5 damage. But geez, talk about a nasty surprise for anyone who sees the "Short" rating on the first Courtyard quest...
Seriously.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Feels like I took exactly the wrong party composition for the Crocodilian on my first playthrough. It was constantly out of the positions where my Hellion could hit it and the other team members were barely damaging it through its PROT. Bleed and Stress (and some bad luck with the RNG) ended up killing everyone but the Vestal, so I retreated. Came back with a better party, including my new Flagellant, a Bounty Hunter and a Highwayman, and finished the first Courtyard trip on my second try
Still have yet to run into the Fanatic or find any Invitations to the Courtyard. People with the Crimson Curse sure are needy, huh?
Flagellant seems pretty usable, though I feel like I'm not in the sweet spot so far. Tank, tank, tank, self-heal, or am I missing something? His reliance on bleed damage is also kind of a turn off, since it's the DOT that doesn't work on Unholy enemies. Maybe if his flail hit harder? I don't know. His heal-over-time could come in handy.
Yeah, I haven't run into the Fanatic either. I would assume there's some kind of event that will tell you when the Fanatic arrives.

Holy shit, the Courtyard sucks. I've had two people get the Curse, though we haven't encountered the Fanatic. I did come across the Crocotick thing, though. So far I think I've had...six people die? I ended my playtime for tonight because my party ran into the Collector and it killed two of them.
Also, word of warning: if you have someone with the Curse drink Holy Water they take damage.
