It's not at all demonstrative.
I think it's misleading. It's just silly.
Check out my fanfiction! It's clearly Not An Example, since it's a case of corporate rights transfer and not the retelling of a story. I'm all for looking for another image.

135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Agreed.
It's kind of funny, but it doesn't have anything to do with the trope.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elsePulled.
I agree with the pull, and I'm at a loss as to how to adequately pic this.
Perhaps a side by side of some(any) superhero in the original debuting form next to the retcon.
Although this format would be awfully similar to Reboot.
In fact, most of the descent examples I'm finding are of Cosmic Retcon and the subtropes as well.

^That could just as easily be a sign of evolution. You'd need two different examples of the same event to make clear that it's something in the past that has changed. I'm perfectly willing to call this unpicturable.

Sure... yeah that's probably better.
Now, I did see some other examples but they were reliant on the context of the source material and they were rather wordy…
That is going to be hard to pic ... will definitively have to rely on text to some degree.

Clock's up; locking for inactivity. No further action is to be taken based on this thread.
The image parodies a merger by calling it a retcon. I don't think it's particularly demonstrative.
