Tropes are flexible, yes, but not that flexible. The trope is "person finds and peeks at a present in advance; hilarity generally ensues" not just "person looks at something surreptitously".

Ah, ok. I didn't realize it was that different. I thought that this trope could be played in many ways.

Yeah, seems too far off from the trope to qualify. Which is a shame because the image is lovely.

I've got a suggestion for Present Peeking. It's not peeking at presents, but a child peeking at his mom decorating a Christmas tree. Tropes Are Flexible, after all. What say you?
