but now there's no Reverse Flash to hold her or those like her at bay.... oh, the possibilities.

Although, given what I've heard about the season premiere, Barry may be able to count on public opinion to give him some protection: sounds like Central City is going to be well on its way towards hero-worshipping the Flash.

Yeah. I mean, pretty soon, they'll dedicate a whole museum to him.

true enough, true enough. I'm excited for that, honestly. I understand the drama of having the public dislike the hero, or not understand, but it's a nice change of pace.

I love that clip. It's my favorite scene in all of Justice League. It's probably the scene that made me a fan of the Flash in the first place.

I love that scene too. Not sure I can see this show's Flash dealing with this show's tricksters this...nicely (??eh??), give that they nearly killed Iris and kidnapped and threatened his dad, but...maybe. Axel, maybe. not this show's James Jesse.

They'd probably have to give it to another character, but this show doesn't have many Anti Villains such a thing would work well with in the first place (the Arrowverse doesn't have more than a handful of anti-villains at all, now that I think about it, and most of them are on The Flash).

That's something I hope we get more of in the coming season - Barry connecting with his Rogues Gallery, and more villains having decent streaks or sympathetic personalities.

On the other hand, now I can't stop thinking of that scene, but with the Arrowverse version of Deathstroke.

[up][lol] "Slade, you know how you get on Mirakuru..."

Yeah, I hope for some Flash/Rogues bonding as well, maybe having a drink with Hartley and saying 'you were totally right about Wells and I should have listened to you' or getting invited to Snart's birthday party.

Waller may have public opinion against her, but that only matters if the public knows about her kidnapping a meta human. (Also, I wonder if STAR labs will develop inhibitor collars this season?)

I really hope James Jesse shows up again in Season 2, provided that Mark Hamill isn't too busy shooting Episode VIII.

But he probably is. sad

I can see the Hartley thing happening eventually. And yeah, if no one knows it's Waller.... I mean, Barry has no shortage of enemies out there. Easy to assume one of them offed him, not that he's been captured by a covert secretive organization

I like the idea of there being some sort of ominous covert government agency internal war, with Waller and ARGUS being amoral but not as amoral as Eiling and his group. Waller seems like she's going after Barry or Firestorm, but she's actually taking steps against Eiling who is up to something worse - though that might be a bit too Nick Fury for her character.

It's basically what they did in Arrow Season 3's flashbacks, but that storyline kind of sucked. Then again, if Suicide Squad stops them from using Waller too much they could outright have Eiling replace Waller as the resident "vaguely evil government Knight Templar."

Waller's more likely to want to use Barry than anything else. Having him disappear permanently would make that rather difficult.

Hhhmmm, true. It wouldn't be terribly difficult for her or Eiling to nab a couple hostages as leverage though. His dad can't exactly go into hiding, and while Joe or Iris would be obviously missed, cisco is only just mending his relationship with his family and caitlin doesn't seem to have anyone but ronnie, who is legally dead. Her parents are still alive, I think, but not part of her life? So...

I dunno. But threats and hostages seem like the best bet for controlling Barry.

While this would probably be way too dark for Barry, he could go, "Y'know, I could run over to the White House, grab the President, and find a nice cliff to dangle him over in like five minutes. Your move, Waller."

the best bet for getting Barry to do something for you is probably just being a trustworthy person.tongue

[up][up] it worked pretty well for Wellsobard right up till the end.

[up] yeah. Barry's too honorable. We saw that with the Snarts and "we both know you're not going to hurt her"

I feel like Waller, if she's being smart, would capitalize on her connection with Team Arrow and on manipulating/convincing Barry what she wants is best to control him, while making inhibitor collars and back up plans.

[up]Or, heck, just say "Do this job for me and your dad is out of prison."

No need to threaten, just dangle his father's freedom like a carrot on a stick.

Ok, who let Light Yagami in here?

That would actually probably work really, really well. of course the next time she wanted a job done, or if it got more and more morally ambiguous there might be some issues, but that would be a nice change of pace, and a good way to get Henry out since they ...no longer have an Eobard to magically get a confession from. (though, wait. the pipeline has cameras in it, there must be feeds and recordings from Barry and Eobard's conversation where Barry asked why he killed her. right?

Or, heck, just say "Do this job for me and your dad is out of prison."

Waller wouldn't be that definitive. She would want more than one job from Barry. I suppose she could continually pull the thread until Barry is fed up and gets her to free him after the next job.

Something like "Do this job for me and I will get some reason into the prosecutor/DA/whatever's head".

Huh, Waller giving a slow build to Henry's freedom. That sounds like her, and it seems pretty smart. (It could also work as a way to get Waller to have any metas Barry captures imprisoned)

Yeah, that sounds more accurate. (of course, what happens when we meet the one-in-roughly-a-half-dozen Metas who isn't evil/trying to destroy/kill things and doesn't deserve to be lock up? Then Barry's got Choices to Make. That could be a fun arc/ storyline.
