Almost everything is a ripoff of something else, whether deliberately or unintentionally.
This is a signature.Should a superhero TV show rehash the same tired stories from the comics, or (like Smallville) go it's own strange way?
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."That post is such a rip-off of a post from the Literature Thread.
New52 Wally and all. I can hear the oncoming wailing
I wasn't aware of that; my point has been proven.
This is a signature.Jeez those internet comments make me feel bad about being a comic book fan.
What is objectively wrong with Wally being black?
Stand Fast, Stand Strong, Stand TogetherPolitical correctness ruining comics. Or something.

Cough◊.
And either way, my reaction to "He isn't black in the comics" is "So what?" Adaptations change shit all the time. That's the nature of adaptations.

That costume of his is bad though, no getting around it.
I don't know why people insist on trying to improve on the original design when it's probably one of the best designed costumes of the Silver Age.
@Mr Didact
I like how some guy pops a DCAU-Wally West picture and claims "this is the real Flash". As if skin-color was paramount for a character who only shows his chin 99% of the time.
However, I think that all those announcements on a series that hasn't aired yet are a tad too ambitious. First, let's see if it's good. Because it could completely be like the first 15 episodes of Agents of Shield, sadly.
This is such an obvious Clock Stoppers ripoff its embarrassing. If I see a freeze gun I will demand a lawsuit take place.
That's why he wants you to have the money. Not so you can buy 14 Cadillacs but so you can help build up the wastesI wasn't aware the dislike of Nu 52 Wally was specifically because he was black. I figured it was because he was retconned away from having any connection to the Allen family, has a great degree of separation from the Flash legacy in comparison to what he had before, and is canonically going to die soon.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Firstly, in fairness to CEOIII, I'm pretty sure that was an explanation, not an expression of personal opinion, in case there's confusion.
I think the issue of Wally being black was that he was also given a negatively stereotypical "black" background; juvenile criminal, think his father wasn't around or was a criminal too. People got annoyed about that.
Given any adaption (or reboot) is going to change things, I'm sure we can all ignore anyone who's crying "Not Wally!!!"
Once a comic book character goes black he doesn't go back.
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."I feel like it'll work a lot better here even if they do make him a delinquent, since the West family is pretty respectable on the whole. Seems a lot less stereotypical.

Right. It was handled awkwardly there because Iris wasn't race lifted, so it comes across as a respectable white lady who has a thuggish criminal black nephew. The way they're doing Iris and her dad in the show would make it much easier to swallow.
@Known: Yeah, that's pretty much the reason why the New 52 has been pissing me off when it comes to The Flash. It pretty much undid all of the themes of love and family that they've been building up as far back as the Silver Age.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.I'm not annoyed Wally is black in the New 52. I'm annoyed Wally West isn't Wally anymore in any sense. One of the best, most developed heroes in the entire company who represented the great themes of growth, love, family and sacrifice? Gone.
Yeah, this is the reason for me and a lot of other Wally fans.
And again, by that logic this entire show would look like a third string Avengers rip-off.
