The Steam Reviews aren't that much better, either. One guy encountered glitches that freaked him out so much that he stopped playing the game. And that was a guy who actually seemed to like it somewhat, at first. He claims that it's not supposed to be a horror game, but the glitches made it one unintentionally.
I noticed this on Steam's front page the day it came out. I watched the trailer, saw the one extremely low-res character, and the first thing that popped into my mind was "Oh, this game is going to be *destroyed* by critics." I then sat back, popcorn at the ready, waiting for something like TB's review to come along.
And the devs deleted all negative threads and restrict forum to those who own the game only...
Give me cute or give me...something?And FUN Creators just took down TB's video. This is Day One: Garry's Incident all over again, isn't it?
Together, we are one. They want him to delete his entire Youtube channel or else they'll get their lawyers out.
Small Name, Big Ego, much?
Oh, no, not at all. The dev's behavior indicates that it's going to be worse than Garry's Incident Incident.
Oh, not to mention that in the initial takedown, the dev's e-mail said that they believe that TB was paid/forced by some other people to do negative video on the game....

Give me cute or give me...something?Isn't claiming copyright against reviews against the law? I mean, it's definitely in poor taste, but you'd think this would be solved even before they bring out the lawyers.
Sounds more like someone got incredibly butthurt over someone insulting their pet project.

I saw the tweets TB made about this, and wow that's an extremely poor way for the company to handle it. It's like they don't even have someone to tell them about public relations.
Well, it is an indie game. Maybe they really don't?
Presumably their lawyer would know enough to advise against some of the stupider statements.
Reading up on this debacle at Reddit has made me estimate two things:
One, that it's a one person company.
Two, that that person is mentally disturbed.
This is well beyond the mere self-serving corruption of the Garry's Incident incident, and is, frankly, the single worst case of developer response to a review that I've ever seen. The cover stories put forth have ranged from self-contradictory to nonsensical, and everything about it screams that the 'company' has no idea what he's doing, both in terms of game development and everything else.
Furthermore, I think Guantanamo must be destroyed. What I find hilarious about the FUN Creators website is that "they" claim to not only develop games, but also TEST and provide CONSULTATION SERVICES. You know, because the makers of such a stellar product are just the people you'd want testing and/or giving you development advice.
Working with them can tell what to totally not do.
The lack of self awareness is astounding. You would think they would take a look at the Garys Incident... Well, incident, and try and learn something from that at least.
I have a tumblr! It consists of cat pictures, mainly! =^-^=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFDF-OTvhNE
A copy of the review, uploaded by a generous benefactor.
"Monsters are tragic beings. They are born too tall, too strong, too heavy. They are not evil by choice. That is their tragedy."Looks like a somewhat glitchier Skyrim recast as a classic adventure game. (Skyrim was really buggy on release, hence the "somewhat".)
While I wouldn't call it horrible on the graphics front like TB, programming wise...yeah, this is a real mess. And then they put the icing on the cake with the takedown notice stuff. Protip: spend that energy patching the game.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Yeah, that's really, really bad. That's like, first-year college student bad.
My favourite bit was when the developer claimed that they were so much bigger than TB, even though he has more subscribers than most games sell.
And more money than God.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Skyrim doesn't run on graphics worthy of 2000 (Seriously, Deus Ex - the original - had better graphics). And Skyrim doesn't change the resolution if press enter.
Honestly, TB probably earned them sales by peeking people's morbid curiosity. They should be grateful.

Remember Day One: Garry's Incident? Something similar happened there, but sales of the game actually went down.
Not Three Laws compliant.Good to know.
I don't want to encourage immensely shitty behavior like this.

Bleye knows Sabers.Source? Coz Gary's Incident was only released on Steam, and Steam / Valve doesn't release sales figures. So how do we know the sales went down? You can use Steamcharts, but it only tracks hours played (And not everyone who buys a game on steam plays it - in fact steam's sort of infamous for the amount of games not played / finished people buy since its entire model revolves around impulse buying). And going by steam Charts, Garry's stats melted through september LONG before TB's review even game out (october 1st) and if anything they actually had a slight bump on the day following TB's review.

Of course even a negative review will boost sales a bit. The companies taking down videos is probably the thing that would drive down sales.
It's a new game that got greenlit on Steam. Apparently, it's supposed to be an action-horror game that allows the player to play as a werewolf. Sounds good, right?
I think we have a new entry for the video game section of So Bad, It's Horrible, folks. TB shares his thoughts here.
Together, we are one.
