I agree, Sanjay and Craig actually became something worth watching starting somewhere at the middle of season 1 and throughout its later two season; so don't throw that show under the same bus as Breadwinners.

But yeah, lets hope it doesn't get the same treatment as Sanjay and Craig, Pig Goat Banana Cricket and Harvey Beaks. I enjoyed those cartoons and it sucks how Nick demoted them to Nicktoons just because they don't see the potential in those shows.

Considering how Nick's debuting the series with a bomb (new episodes per weekend), they might have a fair amount of confidence in Wtt W.

I want Welcome To The Wayne to be a hit like The Loud House (besides another season for Harvey Beaks, which sadly ain't happening, so THIS needs to make up for THAT.); anything to give Nick more good variety that I feel their animation output lacks outside of those 3 examples, IMHO.

Look, I admit Sanjay And Craig did get better as it went along (meaning it's not the worst - just good dumb fun, if you're in the mood for that.), but it's still got nothing on these other 3 shows I've mentioned, unfortunately.

Wow.

Samurai Jack. FLCL. Hey Arnold.

It's a good time to be alive. Maybe they'll bring Jimmy Neutron back so the series doesn't end with Planet Sheen. Hey Arnold is one of those shows that was on so early for me, and I watched it so peripherally next to shows like Recess and Buzz Lightyear and Dragonball, that I only faintly remember some of the episodes.

That episode where Eugene chewed on a pencil and drove that one kid crazy, the constant Always a Bigger Fish dynamic between Helga and Harold, the episode where Arnold and Gerald were dressed as fruits and had to make it across town to get to some kind of play, the episode where Helga got her babysitter Inka sent to some kind of convent but, at the end, received a letter from her and actually felt bad about it.

And then the film with that corporate guy trying to sell Arnold's hometown and him racing Arnold, Helga, and Gerald back to town while they were driving a bus or something, and that little "You take the high road and I'll take the low road" humming he does.

It's on a long list of cartoons that I need to rewatch someday.

Not sure if this goes here or in the Western Animation Chatterbox, but here goes:

Former DreamWorks Animation co-president Mireille Soria is tapped to become President of Paramount Animation.

Well, given the rut Paramount has been under as of late (which the likes of Monster Trucks, Ghost in the Shell, Baywatch, and especially Transformers: The Last Knight couldn't help alleviate), it looks like Paramount in general has nowhere to go but up.

Question is, is she up to the task?

[up]x2 You forgot to mention Invader Zim, Ducktales and Young Justice. And for the video game side, Crash Bandicoot (who might get his own cartoon given the backdoor pilot he have in Skylanders Academy).

I actually forgot that was being revived. I thought it was just another "pitch" like the one they did for the Galatic Kids Next Door.

Let's see:

  • Original voice actors are back? Check.
  • Character and background design is in line with the original show? Check.
  • Humor is like the original show? Check.
  • Funny? Check.

I daresay I'll actually be seeing this when it comes out.

Well, I can say they satire the 2010's without it coming off as meanspirited. Also the spirit of the series is really intact. I love it. [tup]waii

I never watched Rock's Modern Life growing up. It ended when I was very young. Would it be okay to watch this reboot if you never watched the original series?

Probably. Rocko doesn't really have much of a continuity.

Rocko looking back as an adult has a lot of satire that I didn't notice, and now I fully appreciate more.

Normally I would bitch about cartoons trying too damn hard to be relevant with the current times, but with Rocko's Modern Life its an exception.

I mean look at the title. The original cartoon was made to be a lampoon on the 90s culture, so it makes sense for this reboot/continuation to do the same with 2010s. And just like the original show, base on the preview alone, it did a good job at it as I found all the jokes hilarious from the whole I Phone craze to comics going digital to super heroes getting darker and edgier reboots, hell, to even the concepts of reboots with the lampshade of Rocko getting one.

All in all, I am hyped to see where this show is going! Rocko's Modern Life has always been my favorite 90s Nick show; in fact its my number one favorite Nick show! And I am just glad that its being revived and retains all of the things that made the original great.

@ Big K 1337

The fact that lampooning has always been a part of Rocko's comedy really allows itself to do these types of jokes good.
