Oh hey, I've actually already heard of some of those artists (This Town Needs Guns, Twin Peaks, Ghost Flower).

Insert witty 'n clever quip here. The metal section is so-so to terrible but eh, at least they didn't put Deafheaven there.

Only Death Is RealCould you explain more about Deafheaven? I'm adding it to my Spotify account due to its high critic score.
Whiney, flimsy, overly sentimental indie-with-a-black-metal-aesthetic that's more or less become one of the popular whipping boys of the spikes-and-leather type metal underground.
Only Death Is RealSo, basically, "true" metalheads are saying, "You're not HxCx enough!!" to them?
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Basically "stop trying to be a metal band and just go be a crappy post-rock band because it's pretty clear that's what you really want to do". They're slightly better than say, Liturgy at least. People hail tripe like this as supposedly "ground breaking" which is corporate lingo for "watered down so the indie moustache twirlers who were bitching about us back in they day can enjoy it and talk about how open minded they are".

Only Death Is RealThere's Satan and Inquisition on the metal list at least, though I haven't listened to those particular albums. I sort of like older Gorguts as well, but I'm skeptical of any new material.

For we shall slay evil with logic...I really didn't reall see what the hubub was over the new one. It was good but felt really lazy compared to the previous albums.
Wanted to like the new Inquisition but it felt a little too repetitive. Very dynamic riffs though.

Only Death Is RealInteresting to see Candy Claws on that list. Ceres & Calypso in the Deep Time is definitely some good stuff, although I think I prefer the instrumental version of the album.
I didn't write any of that.

Not everything will appeal to you, but I've already found some awesome albums. For example, *Etherwood's* debut is a very chilled Dn B set.
