I was going to say Hot Fuzz but you beat me to it.
Oh really when?Just buddy cop films?
With that limitation the Lethal Weapon series would be my clear favourite. As tired as number 4 is I still think it is the strongest final entry for an 80s action film series.
Am I a good man or a bad man?Funnily enough, and even though the series got steadily worse after the first one, and even though I'm starting to like Chris Tucker less and less, still really like Rush Hour.
Meanwhile, I've come to like the Shanghai Noon movies more and more - do those really count, though? Technically they're lawmen, but they don't act as such for the majority of either two films.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. While I don't know about favorite, one I like and would consider underrated is Shakedown, with Peter Weller and Sam Elliot. Fun flick. The action is ridiculously over-the-top.
I haven't seen it, though I've been meaning to for a long time, but I've heard Bon Cop Bad Cop is pretty funny.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I like the Rush Hour movies. :)
I like to keep my audience riveted.Lethal Weapon 4, Die Hard 3, Bad Boys 1 and 2, Rush Hour 1 and 2.
Oh, here's another one of my favorite (which is slightly reminiscent of Hot Fuzz as well):
Showdown in Little Tokyo starring Dolph Lundgren and the late, great Brandon Lee. To call this movie cheesy and over the top would be a massive understatement. It's only like 79 minutes long so there's an action sequence about every five minutes and they're all awesome.
You can get what you want and still not be very happy.Hot Fuzz. Lethal Weapon 4 is good too but not on the same level of awesomeness. I like it because Jet Li kicks the utter shit out of Mel Gibson and you kinda know that if it was a real fight, Gibbo would be one gone kid.
So does Mel. Look at his eyes in the fight scenes - he's really shit scared of Li.
The Lethal Weapons series, Hot Fuzz, Rush Hour 1 and 2, Hard Boiled (sort of),The newer Sherlock films were very much like this,Bad Boys I and II, Beverly Hills Cop and sequels, tango and cash, starsky and hutch, and Hollywood Homocide.
Yeah I like the genre but I like action films in general.
Who watches the watchmen?Oh, man. I forgot Tango and Cash. Probably the biggest amount of snarky quips and one-liners in an action movie. Kurt Russel and Stallone are pretty much in full Snark-to-Snark Combat mode throughout the film. Great fucking movie.
You can get what you want and still not be very happy.I think my favorite part of that film is when they're on trial, and they just start riffing on the whole thing, like they've already seen the movie and know that no mere suspension can stop them.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the Great
Random topic, but since I am just now getting into these types of films, I wanted to know what some of your favorites are.
I'll kick off this thread with the theme not just one of my favorite buddy-cop films, but one of my favorite films period:
