Kantai Collection: Moe IJN Battleship Combat

The Truk event had a somewhat limited version of it too — ships used in part 1 couldn't be used in part 2, but you got them all back for the finale since it required the Combined Fleet.

Looks like the end of maintenance was pushed back an hour and a half.

Also, looks like we're going to have SOME control over routing this time around, if what the staff tweets tonight say are true.

EDIT: Fourteen star difficulty. FOURTEEN. STARS. For the final stage.

EDIT EDIT: What we know now:

• 5 new ships — Littorio, Roma, Katsuragi, Akitsushimo, Takanami. Roma is a freaking E-6 drop, in what looks like THE hardest map to date in the game, while Akitsushimo is the E-6 clear reward.
• Limited control over map routing.

So we now have Axis Powers Kancolle. Figures.

I hope stars are just placebo. I don't think I have enough bauxite. 40k seems to be a bit low.

Last event's hair-tearingly difficult final map was just twelve stars, mind you. Need I remind you that featured two BB Himes escorting a BB Water Demon.

This time it's FOURTEEN. Up To Eleven indeed.

I notice the same boss from E5's making a repeat appearance. I don't think she's damaged this time too...

Akitsushima, you mean.

Akitsushima's done by the same artist as Nagato, Yukikaze etc., but we still have no confirms on who did the Littorio class, except everyone I've talked to so far say that it's awfully familiar. Ditto for Katsuragi, though if you told me that it's still the same artist as Ryuujou and Junyou, I'd be shocked. Extremely shocked.

Katsuragi's art has the same feel as Zuikaku's.

And Littorio's gives me the same vibe as Yuugumo.

Well, at least the first map is pretty easy. Or it is on medium. Got two new ships the first two runs, so I'm reasonably happy. Not any new new ships, but still. Kumano and Ooyodo. Hint: Southern route is easier. Just tack a sonar on a few destroyers, and you'll be fine. I find them to be good anyway, for the increased accuracy, and I always have trouble picking the third slot on my destroyers.

E1 Hard clear

Personally found the northern route easier since I only had to fight one node before the boss and I don't need to equip ASW

E2 Hard clear

Definitely easier than last event's E2

I think you should be comparing it instead to last year's anniversary which gave us... Hoppou.

You don't even need ASW. Just line abreast.

I'm not sure if I want to aggressively complete this event or do it at a leisurely pace. Hmm.

Good news is that with E1 complete, my Yamato just became that much more obscenely powerful. Though, I wonder if I should have completed it on Medium. 46 cm prototype might be more useful. Huh.

Just cleared E3 Hard now while it seems Myssa had an easier time

Cleared E4 Easy. Only wanted Mami and the medal. None of the other rewards interested me. Also, my sisters insisted I use Atago and Kongou. Both were locked to E3

Planning to do E5 on Medium then E6 on Hard... or just go easy all the way

E3's not too bad. You just have to get Nakano to orange before torp phase. The fleet isn't really optimal either considering fleet locking.

I got Takanami. Yay. I don't know what to feel about my affinity for trophy ships.

I'd rather shoot for the spaghetti B Bs for the event. The D Ds will come around anyway. :P

Saving my Yamatos for E-5, so I suppose it's Kongou and Hiei for E-4's combined fleet, ditto for Hiryu, Sohryu, and the two Cranes.

I should be done with E3. Error cats at boss are a pain.

I'm still taking it easy. Have barely started to figure out what to do with E2. Aside from stuff like getting familiar with the combined fleet mechanic. Don't really have that good carrier equipment, though, and by that I mean Reppuus. Got one of those and three Shidens, which doesn't amount to a lot when it comes to equipping multiple carriers, even if it's a good start, and enough for one or two carriers.

I might just go for clearing it on easy just for the ships, unless there's some fun equipment to be found that doesn't require hair-tearing from using a sub-standard fleet. Haven't decided yet.

Also haven't touched the expeditions yet. Those are like 33/34?

Ideally you don't need to touch event expeditions (map and boss support) unless you really need to (last year's event pretty much forced people to rely on them though, due to difficulty; looks at Hoppou).

Someone mentioned it might sometimes be a good idea for the final run of a map, since the boss is harder then (and you absolutely need a kill). Though naturally it depends on how you've been doing up till then.

Mostly I'm just worried about how far I can make it with my meager air power.

If you're playing on Easy, you should be fine. You only really need Reppus for Medium and Hard, the latter by virue of being hard requires you to have an Airpower score of 250+ to avoid getting double-attacked to death (meaning lots and lots of Reppus).

As for Support Fleets — it really depends on how ready your fleet is. I use both if there's an especially annoying node on the way to the boss (any node with a flagship Ru or Ta can become like this), and if the boss has way too many trash mobs to reliably clear before Night Battle (a problem both during Midway and Truk, what with DOUBLE BB HIME).

I might farm E6 on medium for the BB, then switch to hard and then clear it all again. Maybe.

Well now, that's funny. If you do go on and use a sub for E-5, and somehow bring her to the boss node intact, you'll witness the hilarity of having the boss target it instead of your other ships.
