6. Like most Hardcore Punk it's loud but not all that heavy.
Edit:
8. Loud, heavy thrash metal that lies where most of the genre does.

Author.A low 8. It's heavy but it still has a bit of melody in it to keep it from going higher.
Faith No More-Malpractice
8. The screaming vocals bring it up there, but a instrumentation could be a little heavier.
Animals As Leaders - Tooth and Claw
Author.7-8. It has some heavy riffs but it doesn't really get all that high on the scale. It's a nice song.
Eyehategod-Self Medication Blues
8. It's a heavy sludge metal song that has harsh vocals, but its not overtly so. I could say its noise, which is what they were aiming for, but I've heard harder in this category.
Dir En Grey - Sustain the Untruth
Author.9. It's very distorted and aggressive, yet melodic enough, and...... byootiful in its own way.
Ravens Moreland – ''Apathy''
My angry rant blog!High 4 to a low 5. It's catchy and I like the chorus and instrumentation but it's not really that heavy. I like it, though.
Sikth-Scent Of The Obscene
8.
Also, you liked it?? Mission accomplished! And.... 4? Guess it's soft enough to be put on a pop radio station.
But forget that, Hello Kitty!

My angry rant blog!4 - Less balls than AC/DC being covered by a ska punk band.
9. The Harsh Vocals and blasting instrumentation definitely hit hard.
Author.High 6 to low 7. It's not particularly heavy. It has too much melody that keeps it going higher on a scale.

9. Pretty standard Lamb of God song. Everything from the guitar to the Randy Blythe's always unclean vocals give it the heavy sound they're known for. That scream at the end also helps.
Author.I'd put it at a low 9. It is certainly performed with a lot of energy and gusto within its style of groove/nu-metal, but compositionally the use of groove and stacatto chug riffs can only make it hit so hard. Also while the vocals are harsh, his nasally tone makes it so the vocals don't pack as much of a punch as other vocalists in the genre. It's definitely not a 10 as stated on the Mudvayne page. Whoever put that needs to get more familiar with extreme metal.
Helloween - Who Is Mr. Madman?

7.5 - The strength of the production really comes through the chord progressions although it's a little too calculated with its noodling lead riffs and subdued verses to really fully weaponize it. Some of the verse riffs are fairly punchy though, approaching the Blind Guardian threshold of Euro-power muscle.
10. The hard-hiiting riffs combined with the screeching vocals make it painful to listen to, which contributes to a high rating.
Author.6.5 - The guitar tone is gnarly and reverb-tacular, almost reminding me of Swedeath of all things, but the actual playing feels like warmed over hard rock/proto-metal and that's what really holds this back.
10. Once again the growling is indecipherable, though that might be a good thing because what he's saying can't be that pleasant.
Linkin Park - A Place for My Head
Author.4/10: What heaviness there is, is kind of inconsistent; it just doesn't "punch" me
I'll fashion my crown from Quetzalcoatl's quillsEither 7 or 8. It's heavy but not that heavy. It's a little too melodic to be harsh. Overall, it's a nice song.
Sikth-Sanguine Seas Of Bigotry
Eh. 8/10. Heavy in all the obvious ways I guess; again still kind of a hollow sound and the riffs don't have a lot of weight behind them tbh
I'll fashion my crown from Quetzalcoatl's quills6.5 - The fat chordal progressions come off as more space and texture as opposed to heft and density, something augmented by the funk/country tinged jammy verses. On top of these the sung hardcore punk styled vocals don't really cover up this well.
High 9. The slow, doomy riffs give it a sinister edge. The vocals are very harsh. There's nothing else to say

A 7. It has a pretty typical sound for Hardcore Punk.
Anthrax - Zero Tolerance
