Okay, have successfully rescued all of the sages mostly blind. Now I'm going to use guides to 100% it before taking on Yuga
Thoughts:
- Reminds me more of the DS games than anything; easy combat, tricky puzzles, and an emphasis on height. Though here it's the overpowered items that make the combat easy
- I really like the energy meter. Makes me more willing to use items that used to depend on ammo
- Iffy on item rentals. A bit of non-linearity is nice, but having everything from the start lowers the sense of progress, and I think the game is worse about making items useful outside of their dungeons than usual
- Why is the boomerang even in the game?
- Dungeons are kinda short. I realize there's a lot of them, but the only one that felt reasonably long was the Ice Ruins (also the best dungeon)
- Kind of heavy on irritating gimmicks. Lots of darkness, then you have the ice, thin walkways, a dungeon dedicated to wallmasters...
- I like how the dungeons all feel different even beyond the item gimmicks
- The Premium Milk delivery is bullshit
- I'm not entirely sure why the game has savepoints now. Particularly with none before bosses
- Best boss is that flower thing
Has anyone here used the boomerang? I know I only bought it just because it was there, not because I ever pulled it out for anything.
i. hear. a. sound.Me. It's good for stunning enemies and I find it useful on the soldiers.
Back in ALTTP, I swore only by it (especially the upgraded version).
Now, I've almost never used it, not even after upgrading; used the Nice Hookshot instead, which can pull off a moblin's shield.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."The upgraded hookshot also makes a pretty good substitute for the sword beam when your health isn't full.

Remove the shields? I just burn them to death. Them and most everything else

Good gods. I walked to Gamestop today to buy this. They had a preowned version, which I got for a small price reduction. I take it home and it turns out I got a demo. Some entrepreneur had stolen a demo cartridge, scratched out the 'demo' portion on the card, then sold it back. Fortunately, I got the full version.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenJesus. I knew Gamestop was bad, but really?
The only problem really was that they didn't check it. The clerks were nice and helpful.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenOkay, beaten. Christ, Ganon Yuga had too much HP. I think that was the longest fight I had, and I had a sword two stages higher than for any other boss fightnote
Still, quibbles aside, I quite liked the game
How so?
Having a sidequest that starts in the early game ask you to go through some of the hardest content in the game seems moderately cruel to me. "Ooh, look at this neat bottle. Not that you can have it anytime soon (unless you can prove you don't need it)"

-sighs- Yeah, that area was torturous. I cure those fire-breathing...things.
Better than having to essentially buy one for almost 3 times the price of the most expensive equipment.
Ah. I guess I wasn't annoyed by it because I did the wind dungeon last, and didn't get the flippers (and thus, the bottle) till I had already been up Death Mountain
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."I'm kind of impressed that I managed to do premium milk delivery (and still got hit by lynels) without dying at once Yes at earliest moment possible. Well, not earliest since I didn't get one shot killed, but still two shot killed would have been enough.

I think I only got killed once. Rest of the time I usually had at least one fairy and one blue potion.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."Just finished the Dark Palace. That was a fantastic dungeon. Kind of mind bending at first, though, but in a good way. The boss started tearing into me once he extinguished the torches. I had a purple potion on me and finished him off with it. Good thing I used it there, as I found a green apple in front of my house later. I also very nearly cleared all the baby Maiamai spots in Hyrule. Just 2 more 2 go. The upgraded bombs would have served me well just a few hours ago...
I recently remarked a detail about Death Mountain: The snowball-throwing Hinox, in addition to wearing blue clothing, also have long sleeves while the standard variety has bare arms.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."...You do notice that they wear a coat instead of just blue version of normal hinox outfit?
That's more-or-less what I just said.
I love the attention to detail the devs have.

"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."I meant that sleeves aren't only thing that are different <_< If I remember right, don't they also have belts or something like that?
Made my first Streetpass battle, and the achievement list says an upgraded lantern exists. Does anyone know where to find it?
D'oh! I have the upgraded net, and I didn't even notice I had the upgraded lamp as well...

"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."Yurp, you finish the Advanced Course in Treacherous Tower on Lorule Death Mountain once. Do it twice and you get an upgraded Bug Net.

Just beat the Thieves Hideout. Didn't expect the Chamber of Sages to make an appearance.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Good to see I wasn't the only one thinking that.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."
Guess what I got for my birthday!
I'm going to name Link Matthias as my original name for ATTP/LA/Oracle game was Matt, after my bro who got dibs on this game first. Also, "Gift from God." That works so nicely.
