I would like to make a suggestion to change to current image to something a bit more fitting. I just think the current one doesn't really show the trope. My suggestion would be to change to Beelzebub from Shin Megami Tensei.

I don't think that suggestion is good either (doesn't look like a fly and it's not about literal evil flies) but I agree the current pic is poor as it really is just a fly.

Yeah, current is poor but the suggestion is genuinely misleading.

I do question whether the suggestion represents the trope.

How about the card art from one version of the Pestilence spell from MTG? Entire card, just the art (different color resolution)

I like the vibe but would prefer something better.

[up]I too like the theme of 6.1 and 6.2 but I ask, must it be an in-universe artist depiction?

Are we avoiding Real Life, film , and TV for some reason... I mean besides obvious NSFW squick?

Also, I'm trying to find something different from The Swarm, but its all tossed in GIS together.

[up]I'd give [tup] for 8.2 and [tdown] 8.3 because it doesn't look like a swarm of insects.

[up] Thanks! 8.2 is my favorite so far.

And I see what you mean on 8.3, its just too small too identify. This is much better. Locusts yes, but same idea.

The Plague of Exodus gave me the idea to find perhaps something like this... but usable for us.

The best I found so far Damien Hirst's Fear of Death

I'm going to [tdown] 8.2 because, since it's bees or hornets, it implies a swarm of killer insects and not the swarm being symptomatic of an evil presence. 8.3 isn't nearly distinct enough. 8.1...not really opposed to it, but not enthusiastic either.

[up]Yep, that's exactly what I was trying to say, none of them are really context specific enough to apply to this particular trope in detail.

Plus, any swarm image is not likely to apply here either because its reserved for The Swarm anyway, regardless if its the Embodiment of Evil or not.

Yeah, 8.2 really looks like the threat is, in fact, The Swarm, rather than the insects simply being the harbinger of doom. So far 8.1 is my favorite, but... ehhhhhhh.

Neat, but not really visible at Wiki size. Hell, at its current size I prolly wouldn't know what it was without context. Shrink it down to Wiki size and I'd have NO idea.

[up]As Lark said, the flies aren't really visible at that size

If it were able to be bigger, would you like it?

Just wondering, does the image need to make the reader feel ooky?

That's true, I'm sure there's a way to do this without being too gross.

I'd like a second opinion.

[up]I don't understand, "second opinion"?

I thought you wanted a non-gross image, and I agree with you.

The fly skull would be a neat concept for The Worm That Walks, but that one's current pic is really good. I'm still going with the Pestilence card art.
