That's really a completely different trope, used for a different purpose in most works where it shows up. I suggest you YKTTW it.

I was wondering if maybe this could be expanded to include all mutated foodstuffs monsters rather than just those that evolved as a result of poor hygiene. I have seen things such as hot dog and hamburger monsters in Adventure Time and a breakfast monster in Steven Universe that did not result from being expired, and I'm sure there have been many examples.
If this trope were to be expanded, I would suggest naming it Food Eats You.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.
