I am not sure on the name suggestion.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThat title works, but it doesn't get the full effect of the trope across...trying to succinctly describe the effect could be difficult.
Porky Pig is known more for having a speech impediment than trying to use a big word and using an easier one instead anyway.
The trope seems to be about repeating words when you are trying to be blunt - kind of.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIt's about aborting a failed attempt at saying a word due to stutter or not knowing how to say it by using another word instead.
Does the trope suffer because of the name?
Check out my fanfiction!Silly suggestion:
Trope Ti Ti Ti Name customed to Trope Ti-Ti-Ti- Name
Link to TRS threads in project mode here. That's pretty good, actually.
I thought we stopped doing those kind of titles.
I think it's fine. It's pretty clear what it means.
I still say Easier Word Substitution as suggested earlier, or Use The Easier Word.
Back to the duck's point, is there proof of misuse? Redirects Are Free.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Yeah, let's see what exactly is happening to the trope.
Aren't character-named tropes unwanted nowadays? Shouldn't we change this one?
I accidentally YKTTW'd this one (having never heard of it before) with the name Easier Word Substitution... maybe we could use that?
