Bottom right shows it most clearly.

Bottom right illustrates the most "reflecting", but it seems a bit blurry. The top right looks clearer

The top-right one looks much cooler, but it also looks like the boss is just immune to lasers; I like that the bottom-right image shows the beam destroying things. I agree, though: the image quality could be better. Can we capture (or etc) a similar version that is not resampled?

It would also help if those lasers had some directionality to them (e.g. fading from front to back) because since it's a still image it's kinda hard to tell which way those beams are going.

[up][up] I tried finding stills of that weapon and GIS turned up nothing...had to use a gameplay video to get the stills.

[up] Not a part of that game's sprites...might be the case for sequels, not sure.

The issue I have with all of these is that they don't look like lasers to me.

They look like lasers to me. What else do they look like?

Purple lines, really.

Really? I thought they were blue. Or possibly lavender.

Anyway, that's pretty much what lasers look like in games.

Maybe this looks more like lasers? Don't know what that game is, though.

Colored lines, thats what lasers look like.

Anyways, since it was asked, here's some fresh made R-Type screenshots, cropped to 350 wide. [1] [2] [3] [4]

I do have more if necessary but those were likely best candidates. Its actually kinda hard to get a good still of those beams, the weapon sometimes fires shorter bursts that don't show the bounces that well.

[up] All of those are good, but I prefer either of the first two.

I wish I could find a radial laser beamspam screenshot from Bangai-O showing an entire circle of laser refractions.

[up] Waaaaaay too cluttered for my taste, although they'd be good for Image Links.

I like 12.2 the best, since it's not up against a very busy background.

Bump; 12.2 works well enough to give a [tup].

12.2 gets a [tup] from me.

@ Adeptrouge, your pic was from Shotgun Debugger, and if it was cropped and cleaned up a bit I'd vote for it.

This and this are other screenshots.
