Gundam Build Fighters

Here's hoping. I just get knee-jerk about these things.

It DOES have a smaller hitbox than the normal, non-chibi gunpla, probably.

Maybe being stockier means it's less fragile?

I wonder if China went pro for a while.

Because "Bearguy III, the Gunpla Slayer" is a nice title for her Gunpla.

All three of the main mecha seem to be scratch builds inspired by a particular canon mecha, rather than actually being based on a given kit like the first season's mecha were.

No where does it say SD Gundams can't perform well.

As usual its about both piloting ability and quality of build.

So guys, Gundam Build Fighters trope page question. Should we add the tropes for the second season on same page (but section it off so people can avoid spoilers) until it gets to the point of splitting the page or should we split it now so we don't have to worry about it later?

I'd say just split it now.

I say make three folders: one for season one, one for season two, and one for tropes shared between the two.

Nah, that would be clunky. They're not immensely separate works. I say we just split the trope page alphabetically and keep to a mix of both.

If the Lightning has a beam AK-47 like the ReGZ Custom...

It's a sequel, with a new cast and a seven-year timeskip. We don't lump the Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny pages, and they're closer than that.

Well looks like some guys on the trope page have decided to split the two using the Original Gundam and Zeta Gundam as justification (also shout to Zeta since it takes place 7 years after the original, the same as Build Fighters and Build Fighters Try). So folks here's the trope page, Gundam Build Fighters Try. Thanks to ashlay for starting it and putting a lot of tropes in it.

Um... I must ask this question, because somehow, I Failed a Spot Check...

Fumina's the main character? If so, is she the first female MC in Gundam?^note I bet I'm missing/not remembering a Gundam where a female was the MC...

As far as Anime goes, I think so. There have been a few manga with a female main character, IIRC. I could be wrong, though.

It seems that the dude with the Burning is front and centre in all the advertising, so she's probably an important secondary character rather than the protagonist.

Yeah, that's the impression I get.

As for whether there have been previous female protagonists in Gundam... not really. Turn A Gundam's Loran was originally pitched as a girl, but that got nixed by Executive Meddling (which is why he spends so much time in drag), but that's as close as we've gotten.

Wasn't that an urban legend? Loran's original character sketches looked more masculine, not less.

For the Build Fighters◊ shippers. I get the feeling China's dress is referencing something but I can't figure it out.

To be honest I was assuming Fumina to be the main character with Sekai has her Reiji of sorts though the official English site is not helping in determining things.

Yeah it is. It just showed up on reddit but I don't have a source to the person who drew it.

I think Cecily Fairchild from F91 might have worn something like that at some point? Maybe? I dunno, but it definitely seems familiar. The blue-haired guy next to Rinko Iori, on the other hand, I don't recognize. Huh.

Also, Aila, I'm fairly certain your choice of clothing isn't exactly appropriate for the occasion. :P

I think the dress is supposed to make her look like Qubeley Papillon. It sort of does but it still doesn't look right at a wedding.

Is it just me or does the lead female of TRY resemble May from Pokemon in certain ways?
