I actually liked the "Bleeding Edge" armor.

as far bad Spidey costumes go, the only few that i really didn't like are his Secret War outfit and the MK II Spider-Armor. the Unlimited costume looks okay, but it's a bit busy for my taste.

I think its the cape on the unlimited costume. If they took that off it would look much better.

[up][up][up]Bleeding Edge and Extremis were my favorites. Before that, the armor always looked a little hokey. Tony Stark is the best engineer in the world and this is the best armor he could come up with? That's why I like that the movies followed the Extremis model of the suit. Bleeding Edge was cool just because it was sleek.

Just googled "Iron Man nose." Geez, that looks dumb.

I can't believe no-one's mentioned the X-Force costumes 'designed' by Boom-Boom/Boomer/Meltdown around the time she adopted the 'Boomer' codename (for extra fun, this abomination is the Boomer costume that you can't see clearly in the group shot). Siryn's costume isn't bad, mostly because it's basically a gender-flip of Banshee's classic costume, but the rest of them are varying degrees of ridiculous to hideous. Well, Shatterstar doesn't look any sillier than he usually does, but that's not saying much :/

And, of course, there's always Electric Superman (now with added silliness!). Good grief, what were they thinking?

On the good end... I actually really like Black Panther's gold-accented costume, especially with no cape. It's slick, eye-catching, and actually visually distinct from Batman, something a few of T'Challa's costumes have trouble achieving <.<

[up]I like the gold accents as well. Otherwise the black just makes the whole look blend together and look boring. I hope they use it if and when he appears in the movies.

On the subject of good redesigns, I like the Miles Morales Spider-Man suit a LOT.

I do agree it was a huge improvement over the previous one. But hardly that it is the best he ever had. In fact, I find it hideous. The mask is terrible and the body is silly.
I suppose I'm biased because I've owned a small pewter statue of that armor since I was a kid, long before I started reading the comics. And as much as I love Ditko, later artists did make that particular armor design look better. And honestly, I've always loved the horned helmet, and was happy to see it come back in the late 90s. But I think I'm in the minority there.

I despise the Nu52 Harley Quinn costume. It doesn't evoke jester like it should. It at best invokes lingerie model trying to evoke jester. I don't think either of her Arkham game costumes were that great either, but they were better than her current costume.

I actually really like the Iron Spider Armor (the red and gold one).

I'm a huge fan of the Batman Beyond suit and really like that elements of it are being brought into the Justice League 3000 costume (despite the Batfamily's recent over saturation with red).

Gotta agree about the Iron Spider design. It's an interesting outfit; though the spider-limbs kinda got on my nerves.

And though narrowing a Legion Of Superheroes choice is a bit of a challenge, I did like Brainiac 5's design with the circuitboard face tattoos/facepaint/whatever the smeg it was supposed to be.

This Magneto design, on the other hand, just never appealed to me. Maybe it's just 'cause I'm used to the red & purple chainmail with helmet; maybe it's the big "M" on the front; I dunno.

Embroiled in slave rebellion, I escaped crucifixion simply by declaring 'I am Vito', everyone else apparently being called 'Spartacus'.

No love for the silver and red iron man armor? They need to find some way to bring that back.

Another "best" contender is Morrison & Quitely's New X-Men (one demerit for Emma Frost). It was a dark day when Joss Whedon undid their good work ... though it was probably inevitable.

[up]Really? I thought the black jackets with huge yellow X to be very ugly. It was a bright day when Whedon brought them back to proper super hero costumes.

I mean, I can understand the reasoning to wear more down to earth non bright uniforms. But really, these yellow X were just awful.

[up]De gustibus and all that. To my eye, they seemed a good bit less garish than many real-life jacket fashions of the time. And as the first movie sorta-put it, I'll take that over "yellow spandex" any day.

The Silver Centurion armor is particularly interesting in that it was the first major overhaul to Iron Man's look since the early 60's, and is very fondly remembered...and yet, elements of it tend not to show up in any of the armors since. The only thing it added that stuck around was shoulder armor, which has been pretty consistent since - whereas it took until just last year before Marvel tried varying the color of Iron Man's main armor again (with the black and gold look). Just seems odd that there hasn't been a red-and-silver armor since, despite how well-received that look was.

[up][up]I like everything on it except the face, but it isn't a deal breaker.

Also, mostly or all white hero variant costumes I think usually look very good.

[up] Speaking of all white costumes...Moondragon's outfit, designed by Chriscross. Holy DAMN. This is the best costume she has ever had (not that it has any real competition), and one of my favorite superhero costumes ever. To me, it is a travesty that she switched to anything else - I admit, it's a hard costume to draw, but I'd really like to see someone simplify it and run with the white over green.

Didn't Tony have red/silver at the beginning of Iron Man 2? It's not completely unused.

Um... Why is Scarlet Witch wearing green?[1]

And I think I like this Quicksilver costume better than the old green one.[2]

yeah, they transplanted the color scheme of the Silver Centurion on to the Suitcase Armor.
