Issues with this trope begin with Example as a Thesis, the description itself appears to have 100% overlap with Justified Criminal (which is only doing slightly better). JC has under 60 examples, but 121 wicks. SC has under 40 examples, and 107 wicks.

The trope could be split for criminals who are likeable for their charm (he's a heartless killer, but he's so nice), instead of having sympathetic motivation. Could also be made a disambiguation for tropes about criminals (people who break laws) that are found sympathetic by audiences.

Locking this up.

You haven't made a case that anything is broken except a claim that it's "not thriving", but the page that establishes our general criteria for whether a page is healthy or not, Wick lists 100-999 wicks as "renowned" and counsels that "No action needed, though discussion may deem a split necessary — renaming a trope in this range should be done only on good evidence that there is misuse or confusion (this means bad wicks — wicks that are incorrect. Like links to heroes if Heroes is meant.) (The Funny, Heartwarming, and Awesome Moments don't count.) Enough work has gone into it and it has too much name recognition (perhaps even outside the wiki) to screw around with it. "

Put some effort into your Opening Posts, please. Don't just assert that a page needs work and then suggest fixes. Show the evidence that the page is broken.
