{Punisher shoots Snowflame.}
Snowflame: SNOWFLAME FEELS NO PAIIIIIIIIIIIN!!!
{Snowflame takes a whiff of cocaine. Snowflame then throws at a catalac at the Punisher. Punisher is Killed Off for Real.}
Speaking of which, I know that I wasn't really taking this seriously, but when someone dies in this universe, can they just stay dead? Please?
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundThat seems feasible. Mostly....
My various fanfics.Isn't Frank Castle being dead an idea someone posted here?
Would him being the Specter's host be a bad idea?
Or should the host of the Specter be Ben Parker?
Punisher being the Spectre's host would be, objectively the worst idea. But also, something that DC's God would totally do.
My various fanfics. He is also currently in the form of a small dog (a terrier of some kind) because it amuses him.
Ah, but what about Marvel's God? Marvel's God is Jack Kirby. So the question then is, would Jack Kirby make the Punisher become the Spectre's host?
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundWhy can't the Spectre just be the ghost of Det. Jim Corrigan? I never liked the whole Wrath of God thing, to be honest. It didn't make sense to me (and neither does the Jack Kirby is God thing, that was just an in-joke.)
Frank Castle works best when he's not tied to the supernatural, from what I gather.
As a matter of fact, I have some ideas I want to do with Punisher, and one of those is to introduce Snowflame.
I agree that dead should mean dead. Mostly. There are a few particularly significant storylines like *The Death of Superman* and *The Dark Phoenix Saga* in which resurrection plays a significant role. So how about we have an editorial mandate that each character is permitted exactly one death and resurrection, and all future deaths are final. This wouldn't be an in-universe rule, no character would be aware of it (except for breakers of the fourth wall like Deadpool and She-Hulk, possibly Animal Man), it would be a rule binding the writers.
Ukrainian Red CrossDoes Shulk still know abut the fourth wall?
My various fanfics.I honestly can't agree with that. IMO, dead should mean dead. That means no take-backs; not even a single resurrection, for the most part. I agree that for certain story-lines such as the Dark Pheonix saga, there should be an exception, but if everyone's going to get a 'get-out-of-Hell-free-card', even if it's only just good for one use, that's still just a bit much. Aside from exceptions like the Phoenix saga, dead should be dead, with most characters staying that way after getting killed once.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundI wonder if we can connect the Martians with the Phoenix by making the Phoenix the source of the Martians' fear of fire.
Anyone got any ideas for how Catwoman and Black Cat would be like in this verse? One idea I have is making them half-sisters. Another is having them be unrelated but argue over who came up with the cat theme first and who did it better
I'd also like to see the New Gods as an off-shoot of the Eternals.

^^^ Yup◊.
^^ OK, so how about a character can be resurrected if and only if, when they die, there is a unanimous vote to resurrect them at some point later on. This preserves dead meaning dead while still allowing for the Dark Phoneix Saga to happen properly.
^ Catwoman and Black Cat was brought up earlier. My idea is that Felicia places a fancy cat-themed artifact on display to lure out Serena, but manages to catch her with the security system. Felicia, wanting to be strong and cool like Selena and also looking up to her father, asks to become Catwoman's apprentice. Selena, impressed by Felicia's moxy and backstory, agrees.
The two embark on a crime spree, with one regularly appearing in public while the other robs something as Catwoman in order to build up alibis. Eventually, they try to decide who is the better Catwoman by seeing who can steal a golden cat statue, which is part of a collection Bruce Wayne has just donated to a museum, from a charity gala. (Felicia also brings Peter Parker along, officially as her personal photographer, because she wants this theft to make the front page, plus she knows he needs the money).
There's a scuffle and the Catwomen ultimately make off with the statue, Selena swiping it from Felicia as they part ways. As per their agreement, Felicia gives up being Catwoman... by becoming Black Cat.
Phoenix is a force of creation and is, I believe, usually benign, so I don't see why it would make the Martians afraid of fire.
Ukrainian Red CrossThe Phoenix is rather inconsistent with what it's purpose is. Av X portrayed it as both a force for creation and destruction.
The problem with death in comics is that it cannot be made permanent for everybody because there are forces that bring people back in both universes (the Lazarus Pit, making a deal with Mephisto, the Phoenix Force etc.) Some characters' very deal is that they come back from the dead all the time (Ra's Al Ghul, Resurrection Man) heck some are technically *always dead* (Deadman, Living Zombie etc.) I suggest this: only when a character's death involves forces that may bring him back does he rise, otherwise, he stays dead. That actually applies to the majority of characters, in fact.
I don't see why Catwoman and Black Cat have to be related; there's plenty of Cat Burglar characters in Marvel and DC. How about this: they were both trained by the same Master Thief (perhaps The Fox?)
Martians should be a sub-species of Skrulls who colonized Mars; they experimented on their DNA gaining superpowers effectively making themselves Super-Skrulls. (This is based on the fact that Marvel's Justice League counterpart, The Squadron Supreme, has a Skrull in Martian Manhunter's place.) Eventually they left the planet, which would one day be occupied by another race. This one would conquer Earth in one possible future (that of Marvel's War of the Worlds.)
Eternals and New Gods are different things; the Eternals are a human sub-race that resembles gods after being mutated by the Celestials. The New Gods are a race of actual gods born from the destruction of a prior pantheon (hinted at being the Norse.) Now, in order to have the New Gods coexist with Thor's people, we can use the plot of the Skein of Fate, in which said artifact was used by some survivors of the original Asgard -known as Those Who Sit Above in Darkness- to preserve their existence by making other gods die in their place. So Ragnarok happened, New Genesis and Apokolips were created, but Asgard still exists- and dies every 2000 years or so.
Just a couple of ideas.

No, I mean still aware of the Fourth Wall.
My various fanfics. That works. I'd also suggest Vampire Bhudda's 'one death only' clause, so that even the odd characters who do resurrect can only do so once. Speaking of which, does this mean Jean would permanently kick the bucket after killing herself on the moon? Because I can't figure out a way to form the first X-Factor without her.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundSoooo am I the only person who sees Snowflame as a potential Deadpool rogue?
More importantly, does anyone have any feelings on my idea of Strange and Fate not getting along?
My various fanfics.&Personally, I like both ideas fine, but I didn't think there was really much need to add anything. So I didn't add anything.

Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundRe: Fate and Strange- first, unlike what many people think, Fate wouldn't be a candidate for sorcerer supreme- not as long as he's the host of a Lord of Order, which is an extradimensional being. 'Sorcerer Supreme' is a title that has to be earned by natives of their own dimension.
Also, in one storyarc Strange worked for Marvel's equivalent of the Lords of Order (though technically he serves the "Holy Trinity" of The Vishanti) and spent thousands of years in one of their wars. Afterwards he wasn't very happy. So yeah, there's that.
Other than those, I don't see any reason why Fate and Strange cannot work together, though they probably won't be friends.
Oh, yeah. I'm not saying they can't work together, it'd just be funny if two guys who are seen as pretty spiritual and worldly and educated and peaceful just had a visceral hatred for one another and each thought the other was a stuck-up douchebag.
My various fanfics.Just had a thought. If we're bringing Mandrake in, what about The Phantom? Looking it up, he's been published by both Marvel and DC, and the comic strip is set in the same universe as Mandrake's. I'd be interested in seeing how he and Black Panther would get along.
Make him a Punisher villain. I want to imagine Frank Castle's expression when he goes to shoot some random cokehead for the unforgivable crime of being a cokehead, and then the guy throws a car at him.
My various fanfics.
