[up]Because I don't really like writing for Cinder, at this point at least, and I want to keep it contained to the main team. Although if I ever decided to do the story. I would probably have Sin and MAYBE Elphelt interacting with Jaune and Pyrrha.

Sin and Elphet DO have good chemistry together... better finish Arcade Mode so I can play story mode to get what the hell's going on in Xrd.

Oh man, imagine them swapping clothes, that would be a sigh to see XD

Cinder Fall's motives are still a mystery as of now, so I get what you mean; don't want to mess with canon either. Speaking of which, there's a LOT of fanfics that has Velvet out there that wrote her as a first year. Granted, none of us knew if she's a senpai or a kouhai then, but you think they'd correct that...

Eh, what's another AU or five? So long's they're written well, anyway.

Anyway, back to my KLLR RWBY

Any advices on the JNPR + Jago & Orchid vs Spinal story? That's the first one I've thought up, and I'm serious on writing it.

I mean, I know how the story will go, as you read in my previous posts. Sent on a mission, set in a faraway island, Spinal attacks, team got separated, and each half fight Spinal and Fulgore respectively.

But the fight scenes... man, seeing them in motion is one thing, but describing them? That would be a challenge.

[up]I'm not too big a fan of JPNR, which is why I prefer not to write them. But I will say that to give moments more gravity, you need to give them some build up. Like with Spinal appearing, dedicate some time to the ship beginning to appear, as there's this dread feeling in the air, chanting going on in the background, a storm starting up as this glowing green ship appears on the horizon. Something like that.

Alrighty then.

You know, I've thought of how to build it all up, posted it on my Tumblr. Basically, before Spinal appears, I'll have Ren chat up with the Captain, Nemo (yes, the one from 20.000 Leagues) since Jaune is too busy hurling out his innards, about his time during the great war. I plan to him ol' bonehead appear after they exterminated the Grimms on the island, via exploding ship.

Soooo Nemo was on a battleship commanded by Ahab, who was secretly planning to kill a Leviathan-class Grimm that's all white... You can guess how that happened. However, twist is that Spinal was there, so we have a three-way melee. Of course, Nemo lived to tell the tale.

Nora would probably love listening to his tale, but Orchid would be skeptical.

Also, if you don't mind giving me more advices, how about the RWBY vs Sabrewulf story?

I know what happens... getting point A to D is the problem. I just thought up of having Sadira being there, who was a legit huntress that they didn't know went rogue ages ago. She was "assigned" to kill the Sabrewulf, but once they found out what he really is, Sadira appears and calls her assassins. Guess what happens to them.

How should I build them up to the final scene?

[up]Hmmm... If Ultratech hired Team RWBY, it's worth noting that Sadira answers to them (Or at least ARIA) so it would be somewhat awkward to have her also assigned to kill them. The two ways around it is either not having Sadira, and having the final fight be the Classic Riptor models (As part of a test to see if they are still capable of fieldwork, or better off being scrapped. Their appearances should be easy to describe since the classic outfit is just Riptor's Killer Instinct 1 appearance), or have Sadira be Ultratech's scout, watching the Team through the Castle. It may be better to have Sadira in another story focusing on her, although it's up to you.

For progression, build up to the castle as they approach and enter, wandering about to set the environement, first skirmish with Saberwulf as a quick fight as he plays hit and run before running away to the Alchemical Lab altogether, the team getting split up and exploring the castle, as they begin to suspect there are more people (Also a good time to build up an air of paranoia), Yang vs Saberwulf, and when she gets told the truth, then Ultratech's other ops attack.

Oh yeah, forgot about ARIA. Either she's the final boss replacing Shadow Jago—fought after Cinder in S2—or she'll be saved for S3, whenever that is.

Anyway, if I did have Sadira scouting them, what's stopping her from killing Sabrewulf after RWBY leaves? Is she the type to follow order, because I have... plans to gather all the KI 3 cast into the story.

Which reminds me, should I have KLLR RWBY be separate, but connected (oneshots, I mean) or put it all in one story with lots of chapters?

Aha! Maybe I could have Thunder into the RWBY vs Sabrewulf story! Both of them are basically rivals ala SF 4 in KI 3, maybe I could have him accompany them, and after seeing what Sabrewulf really is, he'll tell the wolfman that he's a wolf with a soul of a man, and embraces that fact. Or have him regain his humanity, just like in one of his endings.

That only leaves Glacius... I think I got it.

Ever wonder how Ironwood get all of his wonderful toys? He negotiated with Glacius, whose ship crashed in Atlas. Of course, the alien was reluctant at first, but after seeing how dangerous the Grimm are, he'd consider helping humanity and Faunus kind. Also Glacius + Penny team up.

TJ is set with CFVY and Riptor Mk.3, but for Maya... maybe I should wait.

That's it for the original cast, as for the new ones like Sadira, Kan-Ra, and the others... Your idea of Sadira scouting the progress of the older Riptor models seems alright, but Mr Not-A-Mummy... Maybe I could have him pop out of a portal?

ARIA has been confirmed for Season 2 in at least some capacity during a stream for Riptor hosted by Iron Galaxy.

I'd say the best option would be to make them oneshots that are connected. Since the events are different enough. As for Sadira, the best way to get around that is for her to be discovered after the situation with Saberwulf is sorted out. There doesn't even need to be a full fight.

Speaking of new characters, you know the Herald of Gargos? Eventhubs has an article of him, his name is Omen. http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2015/jan/02/omen-5th-killer-instinct-season-2-characters-name-check-out-first-teaser-image-here/

... Yeah, I think I'd stick with the one I made right now.

Still, thanks so much for putting up with my questions. It seems like I'm the only guy who ever thinks of a RWBY crossover with Killer Instinct, then you showed up taking an interest. Thanks again, man [tup]

Also, a reminder that I don't own an Xbone. I just love the new Killer Instinct turn up so much I got invested to its lore.

[up]I played KI 2013 on my brother's Xbone for a month or two until he moved it, just before Season 2. He then sold it so...

With the GG x RWBY concept, one particular part I did conceive was Ruby vs Sol, where Ruby starts to turn the tides as she goes full force, and goes for the finisher of that Psycho Crusher esc move from the Food Fight, hitting Sol in this massive Rose Petal explosion... And then as it clears, Ruby sees, in horror, that Sol blocked her big attack by lazily holding out his sword. He cracks his neck back and forth, as he lets loose more of his power, followed by every single rose petal igniting and burning up in the air.

If it was in a visual format, This Will Be the Day would be playing during Ruby's comeback, and when her attack gets blocked, it goes silent. As Sol cracks his neck, Heavy Day would start playing.

[up]Wouldn't Ride the Fire be better for that hypothetical situation? You wouldn't have to bootstrap Heavy Day because it's the Dragon Install theme, and it would fit because both what you're mentioning and DI are Sol using more of his power than usual.

[up]True, but I honestly think that for such a situation, Heavy Day would flow better, since it has the build up to the really energetic bits with the opening riff, which would match the situation of slowly rising power from Sol, while Ride the Fire is just full intensity from the very start.

This week's winn-ing line from a RWBY fan fic is from Team WRBY:

"I think I just semblanced myself."

I wasn't sure about this fic, the summary itself comes off a little hostile. It starts out kind of neat, For Want Of A Nail. The prose is nothing to write home about, and I think the author "de-badass'd" Team RWBY a bit to make Weiss look better. Yet, I like their tactics here, and their positions during the Nevermore fight here more than in the show.

I'll trek a couple more chapters but the author's note is a little too pompous.

Whelp, I started that OC story. Any advice/criticism would be appreciated [1].

I've tried to characterise Isager as cold, apathetic, abrasive and somewhat insensitive to the feelings or concerns of others unless he can empathise with the other person's struggles. Do you guys think I did that well?

Read over your fic.

Regarding your question, all I can say is...I don't know yet. I just don't think there are enough material to judge your character for the time being.

To be honest, Isager rubs me the wrong way a little bit with the way he interacts with authority figures. I mean, rubbing in their face that he hacks into their database in a regular base (at least, that's what I'm getting)? That can't be smart, and if I'm not mistaken, he's supposed to be a smart character. Then again, if his family is so influential as described in your fic, I suppose it wouldn't be too far-fetched for him to get away with it?

That said, I think your fic has a pretty solid start. Keep it up, mate. grin

Thanks for responding mate!

"Isager rubs me the wrong way a little bit with the way he interacts with authority figures": His falling out with his mother left him with Authority issues.

"I mean, rubbing in their face that he hacks into their database in a regular base": It's Brutal Honesty of a sorts at work. His family is a very manipulative, compulsive liar type of people, so he's very upfront as a way of distancing himself from them. But he's pragmatic about it, so he'll make special exceptions (he didn't tell Glynda that he took everything because she'd assume he was a spy and imprison, maybe kill him.)

"He's supposed to be a smart character": He is, but compared to the rest of his family he isn't of sound mind for a variety of reasons.

Also, you're right, with the exception of big corporations (a la Schnee Dust Company) or large criminal syndicates, they're basically untouchable.

Ah, I guess those explanations make enough sense.

All right. I'm going to do it.

I'm going to publish chapter 7 of Under the Ashen Sky in at most two days.

Yeah, it has been going on for too long. I better finish at least that one. If I wait until the remake of chapter 1, it will take forever.
