  • Name: James Albronda III (Uses the moniker "James Abbey")
  • Gear(s): Chroma
  • Race: Human
  • Age: 19
  • Gender: Male
  • Appearance: Cloaked and Daggered. Just less of being Dem Bones.
  • Personality: James is at heart a good person. He wants nothing more than to work for a fame and fortune, rather than having it dumped on him. He tries to be friendly with everyone, but it rarely works, as he hasn't been with normal folk for very long, his upper-class mannerisms can make him stick out like a sore thumb.
  • Abilities/Magic: Deception and Deceit: James is adept at illusory magic, being able to both turn things invisible (including himself or his Gear, but only one at a time) and create illusions.
  • Bio: The Albronda family is a rather well-known family of nobles in Arernand. The third James to grace this famous family is not happy about this, but he has had the nobleman's life forced upon him, with all the stuffiness and pretending to be above others that entails. His family forbade him from learning magic, to leave it to the peasantry. So he ran away from home, taking on his false identity and never uncovering his face.

He remained in Arernand though, perhaps he saw it as home. He has spent the time until now laying low and hiding from his parents, who are offering a large reward for his safe return. He only plans to reveal his true identity should he come out at the top of the Black Sabbath.

Seconding the question about goodisgood's Titan, and also wondering if I should make a Puppeteer as well. I think daltar is working on a Puppeteer for Blue Rose, but that still leaves us short.

It's been fun.

If we remain short, I could have our illustrious Mr. Albronda take on a second Gear, but truthfully I would rather not.

I'll start work on one, then. Anyone want to offer their Gear?

It's been fun.

Hey, so are multiple characters permitted? I'm going to try and bridge the gap between the number of Puppeteers and their Gears.

They are, I think. I should work on a Puppeteer, too.

Edit: Perhaps a magic-focused female Puppeteer. Question: do 'Western' films actually exist in this world (that is to say, would the icon Roy Eastwood is adopting be well-known enough for someone to create him on purpose to match that icon?)

And, gap-filler complete. One might draw some parallels between her and an old Radio City character of mine... and you'd be right to do so. But she's not exactly the same character at all.

  • Name: Dawn Raychase
  • Gear(s): Armon
  • Race: Human
  • Age: 16
  • Gender: ♀
  • Appearance: Can you keep up?
  • Personality: Peppy, with an irrepressible spirit, Dawn is never seen to be short of a smile. She aims to be everyone's friend and at the end of the day hopes to pass through the Sabbath without any bloodshed.

She has a very active tinkering side to her - she doesn't see her Gear as a weapon of warfare, but strangely as a project for the Academy and spends a lot of time simply trying new things out and seeing how they work.

  • Abilities/Magic: Dawn is a talented engineer. Her magic focuses on technopathy - both being able to cast buffs onto her Gear and should the situation have demanded it, she can interface with technological Gears of foes to slow them down.
  • Bio: Dawn has always been the bright spark, from a young age working with her mechanic father in the family business. As soon as she was old enough to do so, she joined with the prestigious Ravine Academy - where she shone as one of the students with the best record even surpassing students years ahead of her into study.

As the time came for Sabbath selection to begin Dawn put her name foward, but was rejected by the Academy several times - the Ravine Academy has a strict policy that nobody under 18 may be sent to the Sabbath. Dawn's resulting claims that she could beat anyone the Academy was thinking of sending rippled quickly to the other students. Dawn hosted several unsanctioned Gear battles between herself and the other students - and she came out on top every time.

Of course, Gear battles are a hard thing to cover up. Whilst preparing Armon for another unsanctioned battle, she found herself to be taken to one side by her favourite tutor, who made it clear to her - they knew about the fights she was organising and were deliberating her removal from the Academy. He had decided it would be best if she wasn't around whilst this process was ongoing and provided her with a ticket... that would take her to Arenand.

  • Misc: Those skates are equipped with what Dawn likes to call "Wonder Wheels", that instantly create a flat, solid surface to skate on, provided that the object it's covering isn't too large *

Curse the ill fortune that led you to me.
