Anyone else experienced something frustrating like this?

I will admit i need to vent a bit. Not trying to sound whiny, but I have to do it somewhere you know?

Well it all started In June this year. One random night, just before the Summer holiday began, a seed of doubt sprouted into my mind...

So what if all that stuff I liked, i didn't actually like?

Before that i'd constantly worry about missing plot details and often recite plotlines in my head just to make sure, but that wasn't too annoying.. Yes, I am very OCD.

Anyway.

A strange crusade of OCD began where I would be reading a good book, or playing a good video game, whatever and I'd keep getting incredibly flustered and annoyed worrying if I might not enjoy it. Whenever I was actually consuming the work, my mind was (largely) content as i was experiencing the enjoyment first hand. Only when I wasn't actively consuming it, I got very paranoid and OCD indeed.

So basically I love stuff and then constantly worry that I don't love it and it occasionally drives me a bit insane. Still happening now.

Pokemon X and Y are also in a week. Oh well. I know i'll love them even if I turn psycho in the process.

Mostly I cope, but I have to remind myself of the MST 3 K mantra few too many times to remind myself that this is not Serious Business.

So basically this is a topic about OCD and how annoying it is in regard to fiction. (forgive my sentence structure)

Here is a better place for venting.

The enjoyability of work isn't black-and-white. All the works I have seen aren't perfect. That does not mean that they are any less likable. Everyone has different tastes.

Maybe you could read reviews? That way, you know if others have similar opinions as you.

Clearly your very realistic solution should be to finish any and all works you consume in one single sitting, no matter how long it takes.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.
