I like the suggestion, but I think using either panels 2 and 3 (going in for the kiss and the impending interruption), or 3 and 4 (the impending interruption and the actual interruption) would be even better.
The current doesn't have any indication that they're going to be interrupted except in the caption — any picture of a couple about to kiss would work the same way, even if they aren't interrupted at all in the original.

I thought about suggesting either panel 2 or 4 be added, but I think there's enough context in the single panel to get everything across that is needed.
I too believe that there's more than enough context with panel 3 alone. Also, the current caption still works with the S&W panel.

Anything more than just panel 3 is overkill. Panel 4 only adds the explicit interruption, but that's the only addition for other panels put together.
