My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.This is. . . epically random. I mean, I *suppose* you could do it, but. . . *why*?
Home of CBR Rumbles-in-Exile: rumbles.fr.yuku.comSo… we will finally see what the Razielim looked like. I'm a bit dubious about the setting though… the war between humans and vampires? In the first Soul Reaver I was under the impression that there hadn't been much of a war and that the humans had rather been ruthlessly exterminated, outside of a few short-lived victories. And speaking of the Razielim, weren't they erased too just after Raziel got his newly acquired wings ripped off?

So it has the name Nosgoth and has vampires...that's about it as far as Legacy of Kain. Maybe it'll give some pressure for a Blood Omen reboot? If Simon Templeman came back for Kain, I would be thrilled to see it in 3D + amped up with combat and whatnot.
'Tis very canon diverging. Maaaaybe the Razielim were in exile, but that seems like wishful thinking, considering Kain's "What I create I can also destroy, child."

We don't need a reboot, we just need the sixth game to come out.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.That too! I just think it's unlikely because of time elapsed, Amy Hennig going to Naughty Dog, etc. Though I would've loved to hear how Kain's story ended.
The amount of disappointment I feel could cause a singularity of disappointment that sucks the earth and all around it into a dense mass of disappointment that floats - gently - through the galaxy until the heat-death of the universe.
i. hear. a. sound. This feels a lot like testing the waters to see if there's enough of an audience to actually start producing Legacy of Kain games again.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Because what better way to test if an audience is receptive to Lo K than to make something that pisses them off!
This is... not what I expected(or hoped for).
“You can’t be an important and life-changing presence for some people without also being a joke and embarrassment to others.” -Mark Manson.Yeah, not interested in it. Call me when the sixth game comes out. If ever, that is.
@Thorn: RRAAAAAAGGGGGGGEEEEEEE!!!!!!! ?
I really need to play LOK games though...all the games are on PC right?
Give me cute or give me...something?I've turn enough franchises I loved turn into...well you know...for me to be numb to it by now.
This actually looks kinda rad.
Finally a game that lets you play as a human who kills vampires. Even Castlevania has been doing the Dhampyr thing a lot lately.
It would have been neat IF IT WASN'T LEGACY OF KAIN AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Though someone made a good point.
If this was just the forced tacked on multiplayer needed in every game nowadays for a new Lo K game, it wouldn't be that bad looking actually.

How much do they expect the series name to pull in, exactly? Most fans of it liked the story, and it's a bit obscure jut to get people on reputation alone, especially when it had nothing even close to do with Pv P before.
I've never really played the series, but this seems like a baffling move to me.
I'm looking forward to this. Not only does it look interesting on it's own, but this also means the franchise isn't dead. Which therefore opens up the possibility of a full fledged Lo K sequel.
#IceBearForPresidentThis is my opinion on it too. It really feels like they're dipping their toe in the Legacy of Kain waters to see if there's still a fanbase for it. This means they're open to the possibility of a new Legacy of Kain title, but they want to make sure that in the intervening years since Defiance, all of Kain's fans haven't since wandered off.

With Square Enix in control and none of the original team to make it, I'm not optimistic.
It's not like the legacy of Kain series as a whole has a great track record overall...
The Kain series is gold. It just hasn't sold as well as I would like.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Dat character development!
Kain's one of my favorite characters ever. Simon Templeman's voice is just...gaaah! I always thought the first Blood Omen could be adapted into an awesome movie/HBO mini series. The story was epic. Well, the LOK in general has an awesome storyline, but that one was the most contained. I was like...10? That an ending could be that way was a foreign concept to me.
And just for posterity... "You're a righteous fiend aren't you?" "Apparently I am..."

About the game... It coud "technically" be conforme to the serie's story. I mean, at the end of Defiance, a whole new timeline has begun, which starts with the events of Blood Omen 2. The vampires we see in the video (especially Raziel's children) could be the descendants of the Young Kain's new generals: he still needs an army to conquer Nosgoth, and would probably do like his Elder self and seek out the tombs of Sarafans. Only, since his soul is no longer corrupted - I guess - they would not degenerate as much as they did. And since it's a new timeline, perhaps the humans would actually be able to defend themselves. After all, the only proof we had that they had been curbstomped in the original timeline was Raziel's testimony, and he wasn't exactly impartial at the time. Now I know my theory is quite far-fetched. But please, don't crush a fan's last hopes.
Some time has passed, and the game's still in Early Access, but at least it's also open to everyone to play. This guy makes a case as to why Nosgoth might actually be pretty good:
" Nosgoth™ is the competitive, team-based Human vs. Vampire free-to-play multiplayer game set in the dark fantasy world of the 'Legacy of Kain' series.
Do battle as Human or Vampire, using each race's unique fighting style to conquer and crush the opposition in a war for supremacy and for survival.
• HUMANS — Arm yourself for the hunt with an arsenal of devastating ranged weaponry and specialized equipment. • VAMPIRES — Unleash your inhuman force with savage close-combat melee attacks and supernatural abilities
GAME FEATURES: • Fight as Humans and Vampires in brutal team-based multiplayer battles. • Experience intense, fast-paced and savage melee vs. ranged gameplay. • Discover a previously unexplored era in the dark fantasy world of Legacy of Kain. • Play for free in a live game with continuous and frequent updates "
I think my opinions on this will be clear to anyone who knows me but I will withhold my comments in this OP.
