I'm guessing the most they'll do is have a pop cover of one of the original songs during the credits.
Looking for some stories?Blech.
i. hear. a. sound. So Disney is definitely going to make live action adaptations of their previous films a thing. Wouldn't mind a Jungle Book movie then.
Good thing they're already planning one, then.
Looking for some stories?Disney already did a live-action Jungle Book. They're seriously planning another one?
I wouldn't worry too much about this film if Kenneth Branagh is at the helm (and, at the same time, I wouldn't expect shoehorned references to the original Disney movie). He's an auteur at his trade and a master of adaptation—five Shakespeare movies to his name, all wildly different in their interpretation of the source material, each with varying degrees of success but all interesting and worth checking out nonetheless.
I expect this film to subvert people's expectations in some way, to say the least.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Cate Blanchett is the Stepmother and Helena Bonham Carter is the Fairy Godmother. Is this the Bizarro World?
I dunno, makes sense to me. Helena Bonham Carter plays kooky really well, and Cate Blanchett can do most anything.
Looking for some stories?Except fake a convincing Russian accent
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatWasn't she Ukrainian in that movie?
I'm guessing Fakestani.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatIndiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Slipper.
Cinderella is white with blonde hair. Could Disney BE more racist?
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! Can you explain a bit more?
If they're trying to adapt their animated film into the live action version here, it should be of no surprise that she's blond and white...
I'm a critical person but I'm a nice guy when you get to know me. Now, I should be writing.I think that was the joke.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."If you're being serious, go watch the 1997 version. If you aren't, then I don't get the joke.
Looking for some stories? Is that the one with Brandy? And wasn't Vivica A. Fox the fairy godmother?
Yeah, and I think the FG in that one was Whitney Houston.
Looking for some stories?Yeah, that would make more sense. It was a musical, wasn't it? I know Brandy was a singer as well as actress. And I only say was because I haven't heard jack about her in years.
It was an adaptation of the Rodgers and Hammerstein version.
Looking for some stories? So yeah, it was a musical.
I liked it, too. Shame there's no soundtrack available.
This is so much better then pretending Wonderland is Narnia or ripping off Wicked and doing everything wrong.

Yeah, I am very positive surprised by this. It sounds like the creators actually got this time what Cinderella is actually about...courage and kindness. This could be a more serious and dramatic take on the story, while still preserving the integrity of the original. And it looks like they took inspiration from some of the planned scenes which never made it into the original movie.
My only worry is the fencing. Not that they rewrite the complete ending just to add some "action".
Question: Will there be any usage or callback to the animated movie's music? Like maybe they reuse the waltz music at the ball minus the lyrics, or Cinderella hums A Dream is a Wish while she works?
