Why don't they just make a tv series already?
i would watch the heck out of a Toy Story animated series. i did as much with Buzz Lightyear Of Star Command.

You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.Because anything from Pixar=f**king big money to make. Americans don't have enough funding to make one finally well made, well done CG cartoon while most of them already wasted up to $150 on Disney Infinity already. Also, what kind of adventures would they even have besides the titular "OMG gotta hide before humans find out we're alive" or "Holy shit Woody/And The Rest have been left behind or stolen by some fat basterd! HARGAFARGDDFGDAH"? Just sounds pretty low key stuff if it became a TV-G series. But i'd kill to see a TRUE crossover with Woody and Buzz meets Wreck-it Ralph and Vanellope.

You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.Don't you mean Pixar & its Disney friends Infinity?
Seriously, for a game named Disney Infinity it sure has a smudge amount of Disney. And most of that smudge is made up of Pirates of the Caribbean, which stopped being good with the first movie, and Lone Ranger, which is just eurgh.
That's true. You can't even play as Mickey Mouse in that game.
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction. No, you can play as Mickey, and they do have some non-Pixar characters, but it's really unbalanced. You can count the Disney characters in one hand, while you'd need three-four for the Pixar characters alone.
I have. I bought it. What i'm saying is having at least a short film crossover with the two movies. Look, Ralph and Vanellope are famous game characters in their world, which may also co-exist with Toy story's world. Given that some characters soon have toy merchandising, this would make a little bit of sence. Ralph and Vanellope, like first-year Buzz, keep their VG personalities from the end of the movie, not knowing they're toys, whie the gang tries to get them to understand the new surroundings.
My God, I went way off track. Ok, back to awesome halloween special. Why Jessie as the main focus? Isn't Woody just as deserving?
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceWoody is definitely deserving....that's why we got 3 movies out of him!
Personally I'm looking forward to Jessie as the lead. In comparison to other Pixar films, I always thought she was the most interesting red-haired female lead.

...
i can only think of one other person in that category. a little help here, guys?
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.I liked the episodes so far except for "Party-saurus Rex" because it felt like a commercial for bath tub toys. ...... and wouldn't you know it, they MADE bath tub toys based on that short! Ugh.
Anyone wanna bet how long it will be before more character voices need to be replaced in these shorts? The main cast is pretty old.
Disney Infinity: they clearly just picked playable characters based on how popular they are/how recent their movies or shows were released/if they'd be suitable for an action game. This is why you never see Pooh characters in this game, or anyone from many other films made by Walt Disney Animation Studios alone.

Winnie-the-Pooh isn't a big draw anymore?
We're more commenting on how Pooh and his friends are not in Disney Infinity.
But they have great adventuring skills!
That doesn't mean they know how to kick an ass.(Awaits Eyore jokes) I'm more waiting for Tarzan, Pac-Man And the ghostly adventures, and Wander over yonder figures and playsets. Too bad they have a snowball's chance in Hell of ever being made.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceDunno. Phineas and Ferb are in the game too.
Yea, but that's because they're so popular, it's become annoying. I liked the Idea back in 09 or whatever, but now? I can't even go to a convention without seeing cosplay of Perry! It's just not really for me anymore.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceSo? All Wander has to do is become super popular on the channel, and he'll be in the game too!
Only folks I know who would make Wander popular are me, and some fans of craig and Lauren's work. Kids can fit into this catagory, but there's the chance they side to watch more P&F than anything. Plus, it's Disney's decision, and they can choose what they want. *Aims rockets at the studio* Make it happen, you fat basterds!
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceMr. Pricklepants is our walking troper character. He describes all of the tropes that we go through in "Toy Story of Terror".
How to make a Pixar-inspired TV series cheaply:
- Create a stable of rookie story artists who want to work for Pixar
- Put someone like Lee Unkrich in place as executive producer/showrunner
- Farm out animation to a cheap CG animation house that does TV work
- Graduate promising writers to more internal Pixar story teams
This special was made by Pixar's in-house staff, though.
I liked Toy Story of Terror. I wouldn't mind if Pixar made a few more shorts like this.
I noticed that we didn't have a standalone thread to discuss these new shorts.
In October Disney and PIXAR will release their newest half hour special Toy Story film called "Toy Story of Terror". In it, Buzz, Woody, Jessie And the Rest are on a car trip to Bonnie's grandmother's house and get stranded at an old motel wherein each of the toys is picked off one by one. Jessie takes the lead and is joined by a Combat Carl toy (voiced by Carl Weathers, no less) as the two take a dangerous trip through the motel and Jessie's psyche.
Sounds pretty cool. You can read about it here: http://geektyrant.com/news/2013/8/9/first-10-minutes-of-toy-story-of-terror-screened-at-d23
