I mean, I sort of enjoy a couple of series where they're all paired up, but if it was up to me, splitting them neatly into pairs really would weaken the emphasis on friendship too much for my comfort. Maybe Rarijack one implied pair, and the others can be single or matched to others as you please.

And, yeah, Pinkie's either pansexual, asexual, or Rainbowsexual (and I have to admit we see a lot less of that now).

All this talk of pairs, when obviously the superior ship is all six together at once.

As many of you know, while I like crack pairings for the challenge or humour, I'm picky about serious pairings. I'm one of the few who took "Look before you Sleep" to mean DON'T ship Rarity and AJ.

^Even though by the end of the episode they end up on better terms and in subsequent episodes they get along far better {Outside of Simple Ways, which was just Rarity going nuts in general}. I suppose the idea of characters/relationships changing for the better is generally lost on you.

They end up capable of tolerating each other's presence, yes. I kind of have a higher bar for romantic relationships. And yes, that concept is lost on me, because it implies that there was something wrong with it/them at the start, which, IMO, means that there's a problem. In a relationship, change should not be necessary. If it is, the situation is inherently terrible.

I personally don't think about pony shipping much (unless I've ordered the toys through the mail and I'm waiting for them to be shipped ) but I remember I've liked the idea of pairing Derpy with either Pinkie Pie or Vinyl Scratch. Pairing her with Pinkie was because I thought they would at least be likely to be good friends (based off of the show's portrayal of Derpy). Vinyl Scratch is because they're the two background ponies who seem to get the most attention in the merchandise, so I thought the idea of pairing them up would be funny. Plus, what we've seen of the way they're portrayed in canon, I could imagine them at least being friends, and then "No Second Prances" added shipping fuel with them both being invited to Twilight's failed dinner party. I also was just being rebellious against the common fanon pairings, although I did like the way Octavia and Vinyl's relationship was portrayed in "Slice of Life".

As for what I think about the Mane 6's sexualities, I would guess that Rarity is usually attracted to stallions, but I wouldn't rule out her being attracted to mares too. I'm fine with Rainbow Dash being portrayed in lesbian relationships in itself, as long as it isn't for the reason that "she's obviously a lesbian because she's sporty and has rainbow hair". The others, I don't really have strong opinions on when it comes to shipping them.

What, orientations or Rarijack? (I'm sorry for bringing up that particular pairing again, but "Look Before You Sleep" aside, the show is really pushing it now.) One of these days I'll have to finish volume 3 and then I'll have another thread to follow.

@storyyeller: And in both cases, their voices or lack of one has been a controversy within the fandom (and outside of it, in the case of Derpy's first voice in "The Last Round-Up").

I'd note that even though I personally like the idea of Derpy and Vinyl being friends and/or romantic partners, I also have no problem with them being paired with other characters. Shipping really isn't something I'm that passionate about.

I know from observation that the word Goku being in any such argument is a recipe for disaster so I suggest not touching that with a 50-foot pole.

Then again, shipping arguments tend to also be a recipe for disaster. The worst I've seen here has been low-key compared to other sites; I've seen folks BRAGGING about driving someone off-site because they had a ship they didn't like. And possibly happy that the last thing they left could be interpreted as a suicide note. No, I will not clarify what ship that was unless asked in P Ms, because it will get worse. It will always get worse.

You can't really answer that question for two reasons: 1. It's hard to tell Celestia's power in general considering it tends to fluctuate and 2. Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken x10 (can we please get an easier name for that?) was really useful for like a minute and then it grew weaker. We'll need to see how powerful it is once Goku refines it.

Plus, SS4 Gogeta will forever be the strongest in my heart.

Depends on whether the fight happens now, or in the backstory. If it happened thousands of years ago, then Celestia has a chance. If it happens now, in an episode, Celly's gonna lose so it'll fall on Twilight to save the day.
