I have Subway, so I'm going to watch Fate Stay Night.
Sailor Moon will get episodes 24-36 dubbed on Hulu for anyone that likes that thing.
Ok so I'm playing Pokemon Omega Ruby and something weird just happened. Not plot relevant, so no spoiler warning.
I talked to a guy in a building- an Ace Trainer to be specific. He gave me a float stone (which halves the weight of a pokemon holding it). I go upstairs, talk to some other people. Then when I come back downstairs, standing in the spot of the Ace Trainer is a hiker, obviously quite a bit bulkier.
I talk to him and he says "I'm not sure why, but I've put on a lot of weight recently."
If I had been drinking anything I think I would've done a spit take.

Reaction Image RepositorySpeaking of which, should I post my Nuzlocke progress here? If so, how do I hide spoiler text?
http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/Spoiler markup is just
[[ spoiler: text ]]
Only without the spaces right next to the brackets.
You get text
Reaction Image RepositoryI keep forgetting that Omega Ruby isn't a romhack. That's the kind of name all the romhacks have.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayIn other Omega Ruby news, I decided to just trade in a Ralts from my Kalos file instead of wasting an hour finding/catching one. Also used the Bank to dump the full Box 1 from Unova in.

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Alright, here goes.
I (and by "I" I mean "my character") moved to Littleroot town with Mom because Dad got a new job as a gym leader in Petalburg. I've already made friends with the neighbor kid Brendan, he seems nice enough. Soon after arriving, I went out to explore a bit and saw professor Birch being attacked by a wild Poocheyna. I borrowed one of his Pokemon, a Mudkip, to fight it and save him. We won without any difficulty, and as a reward for saving him, the professor let me keep the Mudkip. I named her Meenah.
I went to the next town over, and found Brendan doing some research nearby. He saw that I had a Pokemon with me and challenged me to a battle. Meenah beat his Treeko just like that Poocheyna.
I went back to Littleroot and talked to the professor a bit. He said I have the makings of a great trainer, and I should go challenge the gyms in the region. He also gave me a Pokedex so I can keep track of what Pokemon I meet on my journey.
I got some Pokeballs from Brendan and caught a few Pokemon- two Zigzagoons named Stardust and Stripes, and a Surskit named Susie because I don't know what to name her. We did some training, then went to Petalburg to see Dad. The meeting went alright, and I met another local kid, Wally. I even helped him catch his first Pokemon!
After that I went onward toward the first gym. I caught a Tailow named Dave and a Wurmple named Porrim. On our way through Petalburg Forest, Susie saved a scientist from a thug from Team Magma.
I reached Rustboro, healed up at the Pokemon center and went to the gym. Meenah water gunned her way through the whole thing solo. Now I have my first badge, my first big step on the path toward League champion.
Team:
- Meenah (Mudkip, F, 15)
- Susie (Surski, F, 11)
- Dave (Tailow, M, 12)
- Porrim (Beautifly, F, 10)
- Stardust (Zigzagoon, lame, HM slave)
Teeth: I did a quick check and it's apparently a Wayne Gretzky thing, so Will was right. That said, yeah, basketball does sound like a sport that would innately fit the metaphor better. I still think even the spirit of the saying oversimplifies the situation by a lot, but as I said before, it does make some sense.
And your point about Metaforgotten is why I usually don't like people trying to attach analogies to deeper thoughts in general.

Reaction Image RepositoryYeah, I'm sorry about pushing the issue. I just hate to see people quit before they even try.
See, now I remember why I never discuss my personal philosophies, because 99% of the time, I make a jackass out of myself...

"I feel like I'm on a raft and surrounding me is an ocean of dumb."- Mr. SarkI'd like to point out that "A shot not taken always misses" is a Dutch proverb. Quite old, too.

@Gwen: You're not a jackass, you just have a thing that works for you. For example, I go by the personal belief of: "Never compare yourself to others, listen to critiques, agree, and then do a 180 into the danger zone. Whatever happens will be magnificent."
It works for me, but it didn't work for others.
Gwen: Nah, that was just interesting, if tangential discussion. The jackass threshold of this thread is much higher and typically requires a heated argument.
Kayeka: Ah, thanks for clearing that up.
My view on it is to acknowledge that good opportunities can be a thing, but never to expect them. But I might as well (judiciously) try anyway, because doing nothing is boring.
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiYeah pretty much. Even if you don't feelall that great, you still keep going if only because doing nothing isn't an option.
Trixie what are you doing up there?
Reaction Image RepositoryI was tried to do a Nuzlocke challenge on my Y version, but found I really could not go through with it to the letter due to me having developed the habit of Save Scumming in my younger years.
