It looks cool, but it also looks too much like a repeating crossbow. A crossbow where you have to pull a lever for each shot.(Ie a crossbow that is just as automatic as a pump-action shotgun.)

But given the point of the trope is pretty much supposed to be unrealistic use of automatic crossbows, I feel like that's not the best route to go down. And Van Helsing's drum barrel is pretty unrealistic.
