I'm more imagining Call dressing as Shantae.

Now I want there to be a bonus cutscene(assuming this game has cutscenes) that has 9 stumble upon Call while wearing a Shantae cosplay. Hopefully there'd be some Leaning on the Fourth Wall.

I just had a Fridge Logic moment... Beck and Call are robots. Who says they're wearing anything right now? For all we know, either one wearing Shantae's outfit is just what we usually see, but with MC Hammer pants and a sash acting as a bra.

Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.

I think the design post for Beck said that he was explicitly designed to look like he was wearing armor rather than it being part of him.

When I was a child, there was a scene in Astro Boy where Astro Boy puts on his red boots. It really surprised me at the time. "He's putting on clothes even though he's a robot!" Beck is supposed to be fairly human in nature, so I made his design look like he’s wearing clothes, boots, gloves, and a helmet over a metal body. In my head, I imagine him perhaps wearing a different, simple work outfit while in the lab — not that I expect there to be any scene of him wearing something like that in the game. (By the way, I should mention these thoughts are just part of the design process, not anything official!)

Okay, so not officially official.

[up]Okay then. A cutscene of Beck walking into Call's room while she's changing into a Shantae cosplay outfit.

There's no reason why mighty numerical robots shouldn't be female. Robots means gender roles can take a flying leap.

Thank you, Bocaj.
Robots only have gender if we give it to them.

Nope. We don't give robots genders. The character designers do, and in universe it's the engineers and programmers who make a given robot look and act like a specific gender.

I'm sure if we told a robot that was designed and programmed as a female that it wasn't actually female in any concrete sense it would have a logic failure and explode.

Sentients without dysmorphia have a difficult time reconciling with the concept unless they give it a whole lot of thought or just don't care.

I meant we as in humans. Not we as in the audience.
Since humans are necessary to design and build robots.

The only reason Arcee and the later female Transformers were actually female is presumably because of severe modification. I think Arcee's was due to some mad scientist or something.

[up][up]Except when they do. It's really confusing and varies by continuity.

Evidently they have a 12:1 gender ratio in the newest continuity or something ridiculous like that so there being few females is at least explained.

There are also some non-feminine female T Fs though.

I'm sure if we told a robot that was designed and programmed as a female that it wasn't actually female in any concrete sense it would have a logic failure and explode.

What exactly would a concrete sense be in this context? Are we talking robo-vaginas? Double X Chromosomes? Diploidy? Asymmetrical gametes? I'm not sure there's any way a robot can actually be female in any concrete sense. Or male.
