Blurry. Google Image shows up nothing.

Does anyone have access to the episode on DVD so that we can take a better snapshot of it and upload it here?

Fixed the tag for you.

Yeah, that is pretty blurry. I could probably get a Golden Sun screenshot of sand waterfalls in the last dungeon.

Justified example here, but mayhap the Sandbenders from Avatar?

Looks more like yellow water to me.

Awwww, FFXII had a good one, but it's tiny. Then there's the sandpit.

Sandpit's okay. First just looks like... a field.

No to all sandworms - Sand Worm is a separate trope. Sandsea looks like a generic desert. Frankly, sandpit looks best for me.

Agreed, I'd rather avoid confusion with Sand Worm or Wormsign. I think the sandbenders are good examples if we can find a better picture.

I don't mind putting the sandworms onto ImageLinks.Sand Worm, though.

Well, I poked around for better quality of the sandsea, and I got a few. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Sorry, but 1-2 still look like generic sand to me, and 3-4 like generic water.

Water that has the same colour as sand. Ok. Anyway, we could nab a screenshot from here at 1080p around the 14:35 mark, where they're obviously surfing the sandwater.

The problem is that that sand, with the lighting it is in, looks like water to me.

15.3-4 looks like a really shallow lake with a sandy bottom.

Note to self: rip frames from this video, 4:49 through 6:10, with the fish swimming through sand. See if you can't grab a couple of good shots (although rewatching it, they might be kinda scarce).

Y'know, I actually ripped the only frames I could out of that video that night. I just never bothered to do anything with them afterward. Regardless, here they are now, before Will starts clocking the thread.

The last two were intended to be spliced together, to show a fish going in and out (despite technically being the same fish). I just couldn't do a satisfying job of it; the compression of the video compounded by JPEG compression when ripping from said video, on top of having both sand splashes overlap, made it something of an utter mess, and ultimately not as straightforward as I'd originally hoped. Oh well.

That looks like underwater scenes to me, especially with the fish flying around.

They work for me...the way he's standing and falling doesn't make me think of someone in water, especially since he's not wearing any sort of scuba gear.

They kinda work, but I don't see any frame in particular that looks good. And the current is funnier. Quality is bad either way.
