Is it just me or is Cecil just another codename of Daniel Handler's? On the dvd of the film version of the book series, I swear he/Lemony Snicket sounds just like Cecil Baldwin...

Episode 50 - Capital Campaign

The reactions to this have been interesting. 1. How normal this episode was, for one that features a sentient lizard and an unruly horde of Angora rabbits. 2. Undue worrying about a love triangle with Earl.

Was anyone else kinda weirded out by the mentions of light being preferable to dark in this episode, considering we just got done with a story arc about an evil light?

Also, I really liked this episode's weather.

Light and dark are flexible symbols like that.

I was pretty weirded out by the references, too. Hopefully it doesn't mean anything too horrible...

Earl's return has rendered me suspicious.

Besides that, another nice lovely episode, nice to be back to the inane and spooky silliness again. Though I expected more reports on say, reconstruction efforts post-war.

Yeah things being back to what passes for normal in Nightvale is nice.

But I do wonder why we don't here about the aftermath.

Maybe this takes place a significant amount of time after Old Oak Doors that the aftermath has mostly been dealt with?

I don't know, time is weird in Night Vale.

Anyway,

I think Cecil might be trying communicate with Kevin in some capacity. He described the smiling god as dark force before he decided to start praising light, so the positive light metaphors might be him trying to persuade Kevin to help or simply wishing him well if he is still a living human after being thrown into the oak door.

So who wants to bet the new arc has already started? Or are the creators holding of on the big plot lines?

I think Earl's comeback is signifying something important to come but it's going to take a while for that to come to fruition.

I really like the theory that the Man in the Tan Jacket is going to bring back Carlos via the subway and Dana's attempts to open the dog park will facilitate it. One theory post here.

What did the town council do to Dana to make her agree to their stance on the dog park when they took her away? Also the Smiling God has a picture of you (or me, or everyone listening you know what I mean) sleeping somehow so not gone completely.

I think might have the same birthday as Cecil given he is an Aquarius, it is probably February 3rd, which relates to the number 23, which relates to the twenty three enigma controversy.

@Yam Interesting. He just has the same sign as me, which made the prediction even weirder then it normally is (first thought I don't have a boyfriend, and a number of listeners probably don't then oh, it's about Cecil that makes sense)
