You did see the part where he's been having dreams about how his parents were killed, right?

Maybe due to ArchiveBingeing Negima I never really got the appeal of Fate. He worked for what he was, but I never really got why he seemed so popular.

I've always been on the side of "he isn't intentinoally mocking Negima fans"....now, I'm not so sure about that. I mean, wow. Karin's question was about as meta as you could get there. I'm guessing that's Ken's way of saying he never figured out the answer either

Dunno why people thought Touta's question was good. "Who killed my parents?" would have been better. Or ask him for everything he knows about Touta.

The funniest part of this whole mess was the implication that Yukihime knows all this stuff and just isn't telling.

Uh, yeah? I included that bit in my subsequent post. Like I said, its fucking stupid no matter which way you cut it, in that he either FIGURED OUT THAT HIS PARENTS WERE MURDERED and having zero exposition on that front and actually taking the dream at face value, or Akamatsu fucked up and completely forgot about that little factoid.

UQ Holder cannot seem to even expound major details like this to save its soul. That's shit you deal with then and now, and not yak about these revelation in a nonchalant manner twenty chapters later. I'll eat my hat if he doesn't confront Yukihime on the issue (And if she continues to dance around the subject at this point)...actually, wait, I can see that happening. Akamatsu can't seem to deal with any type of exposition/character interaction without tripping all over himself anymore.

He's a white haired, stoic albino. Of course people are going to eat him up for some inexplicable reason. Strangely enough, I actually liked him when he was still blatantly villainous regardless of intentions. It was about the time a potential Heel–Face Turn started cropping up along with his "I'm not a complete asshat" tendencies was when he stopped being remotely entertaining for me. As for Karin's question, waste of a page to ask that question and actually not say anything about it. I mean, I wouldn't be thrilled with that revelation happening in another series like UQ Holder to begin with, but at least it wouldn't feel like a waste of time. Speaking of which, have we figured out who that girl is next to Makie? I can't for the life of me figure out who its supposed to be.

I figure Ako. With her, the flashback includes everyone who agreed they were going to keep chasing him after the Sports Festival ended.

Hmm, not a bad chapter. What will happen now? Will Touta himself consider the top of the tower off-limits until he feels he's got strong enough? Because it's been established he could get there anytime with just a wee little pulling of strings from UQ Holder.

Hair seems a little dark to me, but that's the most logical one of the lot.

Suddenly, Time-Skip where we're already at the tower.

Now Touta goes under Training from Hell and he fights in his training one of those two remaining UQ Numbers from the poster because they're a Mage and he needs more experience fighting mages.

Hmmm...wait a minute. If Negi was still "gone" when Asuna woke up, does that mean that she woke up in a timeline that Touta wasn't born or they failed to rescue Negi?

This opens it up fior some more AU stuff.

Not really. Bare in mind that they're immortal, and Fate said the issue isn't a pressing matter. There's also the possibility that Negi actually kicks the can during said conflict for whatever reason, though that depends if you trust Not!Eva's words to Asuna in the first place.

I might said it already, but if this is the time-line where Asuna is sealed, wouldn't that mean that in five decades Negi is either still sealed or actually dead already and Eva leave UQ Holder without looking back, though maybe it was just destroyed in the meantime.

Or not. Days still young after all. Still, it would be funny if Holder completely failed in that regard and collapsed because the people in leadership positions can't manage their way out of a wet paper bag.

Why haven't we seen Asuna in /any/ of the flashbacks? Didn't she go back in time to be with 3-A or did I miss something in the early UQ Holder chapters?

People are still assuming (rightly) that this is in a timeline where Asuna hasn't woken up yet.

Well it's either that, or Akamatsu is making it look that way so it'll be more shocking when she does show up.

If Asuna shows up, I imagine it'll take place where she's locked up in suspended animation. I doubt she'll actually wake up and take up an active role.

That might salvage the series for me, but I still think that's a tale reserved for Negi and her, as opposed to SUPER SPECIAL IMMORTAL SQUAD and poor itty bitty mortal Asuna. Though the way Akamatsu has been writing for the past few years, I'd be very hesitant about such a prospect.

Like everyone said, this is probably the timeline where she's locked up without a replacement running around. That said, I'm surprised she hasn't been mentioned in any capacity whatsoever, even in a sort of hushed and reverent tone.

Asuna showing up would be pretty neat, I'll admit.

I dunno, maybe they go to Magic World in the future and Asuna is like the Queen or something. That'd be cool.

That would sort of imply that even with her presence, Ala Alba could do nothing to stop the Lifemaker, and I'm sort of against that. While I don't think seeing her again is outside the realm of possibility, I somehow doubt she'll be conscious (Or even directly shown) if such a thing happens.

@Skorm, I just went on the Aquastar forums to see if Hata had any information regarding Chapter 43 and someone mentioned how Touta would know about his parents getting murdered. If you look at the beginning of Chapter 12, Touta experiences a dream where Eva tells him that she couldn't save his parents and that "those bastards were strong", implying that someone or something murdered them. That's probably what tipped him off.

Like I said, that's the sort of epiphany that would be worth sharing even for a blasted second. Like seriously, it takes almost thirty chapters it to be revealed all of the sudden that it wasn't a nondescript flashback or it didn't take hold like Asuna's did? Come on now.

So...does Eva really know everything Fate knows and she's just not telling anyone? Is this actually some dedicated "brotherhood" of immortals, or just a half-assed alliance of convenience?

...Negi is alive...of course. God, I would love it if we just suddenly learned next chapter that UQ Holder are the villains. Fate's the hero—a prick who hires thugs to kill orphans—but he's the hero who sees the big picture and makes the hard choice between a thousand dead orphans and billions of everyone else.

Touta didn't ask a stupid question, and nobody praised him for his incredible wisdom or impossible reasoning skills. Wow.

The perfect end to all of this would have been a big rock squashing Kirie's head. She resets and nobody has any idea what happened down there! BAD END. Roll credits, manga over... "--those guys who were trivial".

This whole arc was just one big set up for Fate's Q&A session -which only happened because he like to hear his own voice as he could have leave at any point - that would be completely unnecessary if Eva didn't insist on being as unhelpful and secretive as possible.

I forget, has Touta even bothered to ask her anything? He hasn't bothered asking about Magia Erebea yet even if he plans to.

No. The idea was tossed aside when they were going to go pick up Karin, and that Touta never thought of ME or asking her about it until then.

As for anything else, there was no indication that he ever thought about his parents deaths being anything other then a car wreck up until now, regardless of the flashback in chapter 12. I legitimately think that Akamatsu flat out forgot to address that issue and went ahead with Touta's question, since there's nothing to suggest he ever questioned anything Not!Eva told him.

He already asked Not!Eva. They'll show the flashback of Touta asking her off-screen in the next chapter.

Ready to groan and cry excessively? Then its time for more UQ Holder spoilers.

Its the start of a new arc, taking place in a "campus city" (Mahora?) on some sort of investigative mission. Kuromaru does something cute, and a "new character last of" (The hell is this supposed to mean.)

These spoilers are barely comprehensible, so take it with a pinch of salt, and use the rest to rub in your eyes when Holder does something stupid again.

I swear to god, if Touta, or anyone for that matter decide not to press Yukihime for answers, I'm going to bludgeon myself with a cactus.
