A JRPG project that pretty much eastern Dev's meets western ones.

It's kickstarter has already reached it's initial goal, and it's first stretch goal, just a couple of days in.

We need to get the thread title changed so people can find the thread easily.

About the game itself— Backed. Soooo backed.

Backed too, originally at $50, but I pull down to $20 for now...maybe I'll raise it later...

Well color me impressed. I wasn't expecting so many big names in the industry to be a part of this project. I'll be keeping an eye on this (and eventually hope I can donate a more substantial amount of money to the kickstarter).

Pretty much, show this to Keiji Inafune and tell him this how you get western devs and japanese devs to truly work together and find common ground.

These big names who got together because their own individual grand visions happened to line up. Inafune was talking about where the incentives lay.

Japanese and Western devs can definitely work together if they want to even in the current state of things. They just don't very often.

Combat Update: Terrain interactions

Me and my Friend are definitely going to back this but it will have to be at the last minute to get the tier we want which is 155 (since it comes with a spare game anyway)

Well dayum looks like I won't have money to pledge $50...spending all those on Europa Universalis 4, X Rebirth, Hate Plus, and Sir You Are Being Hunted...well that sucks.

We're getting console versions, too.

Yeah, 2015 seems like a big year for just about everything in entertainment.

Can't say that I really care about the 800K goal, but I do really hope this hits the 1.025M goal. Fortunately, if my experience with these is accurate, they ought to pick up another ~300K in the last two days. Though with finite numbers of the most popular packages, that might not happen.

800K goal is achieved and now we're into the home stretch on this one.

Anyone looking to grab the $20 tier might want to be on the lookout as people do occasionally upgrade, opening up those slots again.

And this is totally not a thinly disguised bump.

Ok if you want the figure you either have to get the puppeteer tier or higher or you can pay 250 dollars at the project phoenix website IF YOU WANT THE LIMITED EDITION.

Also the Paypal will still be up LONG after the kickstarter has ended so don't fret if we don't get those new stretch goals right now

Yeah, but the Paypal donations are much smaller than the Kickstarter donations (about 2.5% of the Kickstarter donations, meaning that, assuming that the Paypal donations continue at the same proportional rate and are quite tepid after the completion of the KS due to reduced hype, the KS still needs to raise nearly the entirety of the 1.025M goal).

I see they've also added more stretch goals. Such a shame that it's so statistically unlikely that we'll reach them unless they either hit it out of the park on the last two days on a scale never before seen in Kickstarter history or have the most successful Paypal-only stage ever. Really such a shame, because I would love to get voice acting.

Oh, but I am quite liking the soundtrack samples. It's kind of JRPG meets Skyrim.

They should have added the stretch goals at the beginning. It probably would have led to more donations over a longer period of time. Increased PR/advertising would have also been nice.

We have lest than 100k left to get the overworld stretch goal.

Kickstarter's complete, 1000% funding achieved, and $1.025 million stretch goal confirmed. Woohoo!

Now, only a year (tentatively) to go before the alpha release...

Forgive the double post, but here's update 27: our first look at an actual character model.

It's just the start of more than a year's work, but it's a fine start nonetheless. Ruffles definitely made the transition from concept art to model very well. With the overworld stretch goal reached, I'm thinking this game's going to be quite lovely, aesthetically.
